Tottenham Hotspur are in active conversations with Manchester City over a potential deal to sign Brazilian winger Savinho this summer.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed the development on his YouTube channel, describing the move as a “strong possibility” for Spurs.

Tottenham attempted to sign Savinho last summer, but Manchester City refused to sanction his departure despite the player’s own desire to move to North London.

The situation has now changed significantly, with City open to letting Savinho leave and the winger himself remaining keen on the switch.

Romano stated: “Savinho is a possibility for Tottenham, a strong possibility. There are conversations ongoing at Tottenham and Manchester City, Tottenham and the agents of the player.”

He added: “Savinho is still keen on a move now that the project is even more ambitious with a coach like Roberto De Zerbi pushing a lot. So Savinho remains an option for Tottenham, definitely. Then they need to reach an agreement with Man City. There is a conversation.”

Valued at around £30m by Transfermarkt, Savinho struggled to nail down regular game time under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium last season.

Tottenham are building aggressively under De Zerbi this summer, already securing free transfers for Andrew Robertson and Marcos Senesi ahead of the new campaign.

The club are also closing in on a deal to sign Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton and Hove Albion, while pursuing Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali in midfield.

Reinforcing the attack is clearly a priority, with injury concerns surrounding several of Tottenham’s current wide options complicating their squad picture.

Mathys Tel, Dejan Kulusevski, Wilson Odobert, and Mohammed Kudus are all available as wide players, but Kulusevski, Odobert, and Kudus have each dealt with fitness problems in recent months.

Tel, though showing promise, remains young and requires further development time before being relied upon consistently at the highest level.

Savinho’s ability to operate dynamically on the flank would give De Zerbi genuine attacking depth and competition heading into a season of high expectations at Spurs.

Romano acknowledged that finalising the deal may take time, with agreement still needing to be reached between Tottenham and Manchester City on the transfer fee.
