Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Fulham midfielder Sander Berge, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
The 28-year-old Norwegian has had an eventful Premier League journey, initially joining Sheffield United from KRC Genk before stints with Burnley and eventually Fulham.
Berge struggled at first to adapt to the physical demands of English football but gradually showed his qualities before finding a more settled home at Craven Cottage.
The midfielder has been a regular fixture for Fulham, making 39 appearances across all competitions last season, registering one assist as the Cottagers finished mid-table.
His club form has translated well onto the international stage, with Berge cementing himself as a key starter for Norway and helping his country reach the World Cup quarter-finals before losing to England.
United have already been active in the transfer market this summer, bringing in Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, but the club reportedly want to add a third midfielder to their ranks.
Berge is not the only central midfield option on United’s radar, with Alex Scott of AFC Bournemouth, LOSC Lille youngster Ayyoub Bouaddi, Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni, and AS Roma’s Manu Kone also attracting interest.
Scott has already rejected a contract extension at Bournemouth, where his existing deal runs until 2028, signalling his desire to pursue a move elsewhere this summer.
Fulham value Berge at around £21m according to Transfermarkt, and with his contract running until 2029, the London club hold significant leverage in any potential negotiations.
Standing at 6ft 5in, Berge is a right-footed deep-lying playmaker who is equally effective in a box-to-box role, bringing physicality, technical quality, and long-range passing to his game.
With Kobbie Mainoo and Santos already providing youth in United’s midfield, adding the experienced Berge alongside Tielemans could bring greater balance and depth to the squad.
Whether United move beyond interest and make a concrete approach to sign Berge from Fulham this summer window remains to be seen.
