Tottenham Hotspur have rekindled their pursuit of Manchester City forward Savinho this summer, according to a report from The Athletic.
The North London club endured a turbulent season, finishing 17th in the Premier League despite winning the Europa League title during the 2024/25 campaign.
Spurs cycled through multiple managers, with Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor both failing to deliver results before Roberto De Zerbi ultimately guided the club to Premier League survival on the final day last season.
De Zerbi has since been handed significant backing in the transfer market as Tottenham look to build a squad capable of pushing up the table next term.
The club have already revamped their defensive options by bringing in Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Jan Paul van Hecke ahead of the new season.
Midfield reinforcements have also arrived in the form of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali, signalling the club’s serious ambitions under their new head coach.
Tottenham’s attention has now shifted to attacking additions, with the left flank identified as a priority area, and Savinho emerging as a serious target.
The Lilywhites launched several proposals to sign the Brazilian winger last summer but were unable to finalise a deal, and interest has now been firmly revived this window.
Savinho struggled to nail down regular game time under Pep Guardiola last term at Manchester City, which could open the door for a potential departure this summer.
Transfermarkt values the versatile, left-footed forward at around £30 million, making him an attractive and attainable option for Tottenham’s transfer planners.
Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert currently occupy the left-flank positions at Spurs, but Odobert is set to remain sidelined for several months due to a serious knee injury.
Tel is still developing as a young player, which adds further urgency to Tottenham’s push to bring in a more experienced wide option before the September 1st transfer deadline.
Savinho’s ability to operate on either flank, combined with his dribbling quality, technical ability, and pressing work rate, makes him an appealing fit for De Zerbi’s system.
