Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are reportedly preparing to open negotiations to sign Galatasaray forward Baris Alper Yilmaz, according to Turkish outlet Turkiye Gazeti.
The 26-year-old has developed into one of Galatasaray’s most important attacking players since joining the club back in 2021.
Yilmaz took some time to find his feet at Rams Park Stadyumu but has since grown into a consistent and productive starter for the Turkish giants.
During the 2024/25 campaign, he registered 19 goal contributions across 44 appearances in all competitions, demonstrating his growing influence at the club.
Last season proved even more productive for the Turkish forward, who scored 10 goals and registered 12 assists across all tournaments.
His club form has translated into consistent international recognition, with Yilmaz securing a regular place in the Turkiye national squad.
On the domestic front, he has been part of a hugely successful period at Galatasaray, winning four Super Lig titles and a couple of domestic cup competitions.
Tottenham reportedly made contact with Galatasaray at an earlier stage to learn the details of a potential deal, with both Premier League clubs now preparing to enter formal transfer negotiations.
Yilmaz’s contract at Galatasaray runs until 2028, placing the Turkish club in a strong bargaining position as they are understood to want around £43m for his signature.
Reports suggest Galatasaray are planning to use funds raised from a potential Yilmaz sale to pursue AC Milan star Rafael Leao, adding further urgency to any deal.
Yilmaz’s own ambition reportedly aligns well with interest from England, with the forward said to be dreaming of playing in the Premier League.
As a versatile attacker comfortable across the entire frontline, Yilmaz offers genuine tactical flexibility for whichever club ultimately secures his services.
Tottenham currently have Richarlison and Dominic Solanke as options in the centre-forward role, while Everton can call upon Thierno Barry and Beto up front.
