Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing a move for Villarreal forward Georges Mikautadze, according to Lilywhites insider Paul O’Keefe.
The 25-year-old Georgian international has established himself as one of European football’s more productive forwards over the past two seasons.
After joining Olympique Lyonnais from Metz in 2024, Mikautadze impressed immediately, scoring 17 goals and registering nine assists across 47 appearances in all competitions.
Villarreal were sufficiently impressed to purchase him last summer, and he continued to deliver in La Liga, netting 15 goals and adding six assists in 42 appearances across all tournaments.
His contributions proved crucial as Villarreal secured a third-place finish in the Spanish top-flight, earning them a place in next season’s Champions League.
O’Keefe, citing his knowledge of the club’s plans, reports via Givemesport that Tottenham are looking to strengthen their attacking department this summer, with Mikautadze identified as a key target.
Football Transfers values the forward at around £22m, though his contract with Villarreal runs until 2031, meaning the Spanish club are under no pressure to sell.
Described as a technically sound, right-footed centre-forward who is also comfortable with his weaker foot, Mikautadze offers pace, dribbling ability, and strong link-up play.
Tottenham currently list Dominic Solanke and Richarlison as their senior centre-forward options, but Solanke struggled with fitness problems last term, and Richarlison is entering the final months of his contract.
Speculation surrounding Richarlison’s future at the club has been growing, despite him finishing as Spurs’ highest scorer last season, which adds urgency to Tottenham’s striking search.
At 25, Mikautadze is considered to be in the prime stage of his career, making a potential deal an attractive proposition for Spurs if they can negotiate a transfer with Villarreal.
Tottenham have already been active in the transfer market this summer, bringing in Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi, Martin Dubravka, Jan Paul van Hecke, Mateus Fernandes, and Sandro Tonali.
Whether the North London club will make a concrete move to sign Mikautadze remains to be seen, but his profile clearly fits what Spurs are looking for up front.
