Liverpool are moving closer to signing Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola in a deal that could reshape their attacking options this summer.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that talks between Liverpool and PSG are taking place on a daily basis, with the two clubs in regular contact over the transfer.
Romano stated: “Liverpool have an agreement with Bradley Barcola on personal terms, verbal agreement. Barcola wants to go to Liverpool. Barcola has never been untouchable. Liverpool are ready to go strong for Bradley Barcola. So the conversation is daily, and Liverpool are on it.”
Journalist Nicolo Schira has also reported that Barcola is moving closer to Anfield in a package worth £125m, a figure that would match Liverpool’s club-record fee paid for Alexander Isak.
The need for attacking reinforcements has become increasingly urgent after Mohamed Salah departed on a free transfer to join Trabzonspor following the expiry of his contract.
Liverpool’s options up front have been further stretched by Hugo Ekitike, who is sidelined for the foreseeable future as the French striker continues his recovery from a serious Achilles injury.
Events at PSG appear to be accelerating the deal, with the French club confirming the signing of Spanish forward Ferran Torres from Barcelona this week.
PSG are also reportedly on the verge of completing a deal for Belgian winger Mika Godts from Ajax, making Barcola’s position at the club increasingly difficult to maintain.
With Torres, Godts, and Akliouche all competing for wide attacking roles, PSG simply do not have enough minutes to accommodate Barcola in their squad next season.
Liverpool supporters have spent weeks waiting for a major attacking signing, and a deal for Barcola would represent a significant statement of intent from the club heading into the new campaign.
