Arsenal are reportedly edging closer to making a concrete proposal to sign Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen, according to Football Insider.
The 27-year-old Nigerian striker initially joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli before his deal was made permanent last summer.
Osimhen had previously helped Napoli win the Serie A title before making the move to Turkish football, where he has continued to thrive.
During the 2024/25 campaign, the striker was in remarkable form, scoring 37 goals and registering seven assists across 39 appearances in all competitions.
Last season he also demonstrated his consistent output, contributing 28 goals and assists across 33 matches in all tournaments.
He has wasted no time in getting going this term either, already scoring twice in Galatasaray’s opening Super Lig fixture of the season.
The Nigerian has helped Galatasaray win two league titles and a domestic cup competition during his time at the club.
Football Insider report that Arsenal made enquiries about Osimhen’s availability during talks with Galatasaray over Gabriel Martinelli potentially moving to Rams Park Stadyumu.
Galatasaray are demanding more than £60m to part with the striker, who currently earns around £300,000 a week and is contracted until 2029.
Arsenal would need to make Osimhen their highest-paid player to secure his signature, representing a significant financial commitment from the North London club.
The 6ft 1in right-footed forward is described as quick, strong, good in the air, and efficient at finishing, while also being capable of holding up play and pressing without the ball.
Arsenal currently have Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, and Viktor Gyokeres available as striker options, though Jesus has entered the final year of his contract.
Whether Arsenal ultimately submit a formal offer before the transfer window closes remains to be seen, but the coming weeks are expected to be decisive.
