Arsenal are actively searching for a new left winger after missing out on Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior, who chose to extend his contract at the Bernabeu.
Mikel Arteta had identified Vinicius as a priority target after reports emerged the Brazilian could leave Madrid following 18 months of failed contract negotiations.
Real Madrid ultimately raised their offer to Vinicius, convincing him to snub Arsenal’s interest and commit his future to the Spanish giants.
The failed pursuit adds to Arsenal’s frustration after Morgan Rogers joined rivals Chelsea in a stunning £117 million deal earlier this summer.
Arteta now has three main options on his left-wing shortlist, with Julian Alvarez, Bradley Barcola, and Iliman Ndiaye all under consideration by the club.
Arsenal have registered an interest in Everton winger Ndiaye, according to talkSPORT reporter Ben Jacobs, who revealed the news on the Latte Firm YouTube channel.
Jacobs stated that Ndiaye “has rejected a contract proposal for now, and Al-Hilal are working on that deal and maybe, like Crysencio Summerville, they’ll pull it off, and he’ll go to Saudi Arabia.”
However, the reporter also confirmed that “Arsenal are one of the clubs that have made an enquiry for Ndiaye as well,” suggesting a genuine transfer battle could develop.
The 26-year-old offers strong Premier League credentials, scoring six goals and registering three assists for Everton last season, having also netted nine goals from wide positions the campaign before.
Only Jeremy Doku, with 84 completed dribbles, outperformed Ndiaye’s tally of 73 in the Premier League last season, highlighting his effectiveness in one-on-one situations.
Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka was the only player to win possession in the opposition’s final third more frequently than Ndiaye’s tally of 26 during the 2025-26 Premier League season.
Ndiaye’s ability to operate on either flank makes him an attractive and flexible option for Arteta, who values positional versatility in his attacking players.
The North London club’s need for left-wing reinforcement has grown following Leandro Trossard’s departure from the Emirates Stadium this summer.
Arsenal did move to sign Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge, but uncertainty over Gabriel Martinelli’s future, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, increases the urgency for a wide addition.
Ndiaye represents a potentially cost-effective solution compared to some of Arsenal’s other targets, and his age and form suggest he is entering the prime years of his career.
