Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola for a fee of £120 million, ending a prolonged transfer pursuit.
The agreement has not been fully finalised, with last details still being discussed between the two clubs, but a significant breakthrough in negotiations has been reached.
PSG had previously valued the 23-year-old at around £145 million, meaning Liverpool have succeeded in closing a substantial gap that existed throughout the summer window.
The two clubs agreed terms on the proposed deal overnight, with the total package worth around £120 million, including more than £100 million guaranteed.
Barcola has two years remaining on his PSG contract and has reportedly made it clear that he does not want to extend his stay with the European champions.
The French forward was also left out of the matchday squad for PSG’s 2-2 draw with Rennes in their league opener, a telling sign that his departure was imminent.
Barcola made 49 appearances across the 2025-26 season, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists as PSG retained both the Ligue 1 crown and the Champions League title.
PSG originally signed Barcola from Lyon in 2023 for £38.6 million, meaning the club will make a considerable profit on the forward after including a sell-on clause in that deal.
The transfer would set a record for a player leaving the French league, representing a remarkable return on a player central to PSG’s domestic and European dominance.
Barcola is set to become Liverpool’s second-most expensive signing in history, behind only the £125 million addition of striker Alexander Isak from Newcastle United last summer.
His arrival at Anfield signals another statement of intent from Liverpool, who continue to invest heavily in elite attacking talent capable of competing at the highest European level.
The deal, if confirmed in its final details, would represent one of the most significant transfers of this summer window across European football.
