Tottenham Hotspur’s summer window has been anything but quiet, with the north London club continuing to chase new additions right up to the deadline.
The chaos continued when Cody Gakpo, reportedly Spurs’ number one remaining target, opted to sign for Manchester City instead of making the move to north London.
Spurs responded swiftly, agreeing a £60m deal with Everton to sign Iliman Ndiaye, with Richarlison moving in the opposite direction as part of the arrangement.
That business alone would represent a strong end to the window, but Tottenham appear unwilling to stop there as Roberto De Zerbi pushes for more reinforcements.
According to TEAMtalk, Spurs have made initial enquiries over a number of wingers in recent days, including Jean-Matteo Bahoya of Eintracht Frankfurt.
Hull City had agreed a deal to sign the £21m-rated Bahoya over the weekend, but the winger rejected the Tigers, potentially opening the door for Tottenham to move.
A concrete move is not yet in motion, but talks were held over the terms of a deal, suggesting Spurs’ interest carries genuine substance.
Bahoya is no ordinary winger, holding the distinction of being the fastest player ever recorded in the Bundesliga, clocking a top speed of 37.16km/h.
To put that figure into context, Gareth Bale in his prime was clocked at 36.9km/h, making Bahoya’s recorded speed a genuinely remarkable athletic achievement.
His dribbling numbers also compare favourably to Ndiaye, who completed 70 successful dribbles in the Premier League last season, second only to Jeremy Doku’s tally of 77.
Bahoya ranked tenth in the Bundesliga for successful dribbles with 41 across the 2025/26 campaign, completing them at a rate of 2.78 per 90 minutes.
His ball-carrying metrics are also superior to Ndiaye’s, with the 21-year-old registering 4.67 progressive carries per 90 minutes, placing him among the finest 8% of wingers in Europe’s top five leagues.
Ndiaye ranks among the best 30% for the same metric with 2.97 progressive carries per 90, making Bahoya’s numbers all the more impressive by comparison.
The area where Bahoya must improve is his overall output, with the Frankfurt winger registering just eight goal involvements and four goals in his most recent campaign.
Spurs have already been incredibly active this summer, with Savio signing in the early stages of last week before Omar Marmoush followed him to north London from Manchester City.
Marmoush is expected to lead the line as centre-forward, having scored 19 of his 28 goals from that role during the 2024/25 season while at Manchester City.
Behind him, De Zerbi has a wealth of options, with potential attacking configurations including Savio, Ndiaye, Mohamed Kudus, and James Maddison all competing for places.
The return of Dejan Kulusevski and Xavi Simons from injury will complicate De Zerbi’s selection even further, but the Italian will welcome having such a deep pool of talent.
Adding Bahoya to that group would give Spurs arguably one of the most dynamic and versatile forward lines in the Premier League this season.
With pace, dribbling ability, and carrying quality all pointing toward a bright future, Bahoya has the raw tools to become a genuine Premier League force if Tottenham can secure his signature.
