Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have both emerged as potential destinations for Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane, according to reports from TEAMtalk.
Kane, valued at around £51m by Transfermarkt, remains one of the most coveted forwards in world football despite plying his trade in the Bundesliga.
United boss Michael Carrick had hoped his side would kick on this season following a third-place Premier League finish in the previous campaign.
The club moved swiftly in the summer transfer window, bringing in Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, and Carlos Baleba from Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Brighton and Hove Albion respectively.
Despite that significant investment in midfield, United have endured a miserable start to the new season, collecting just four points from their opening four Premier League matches.
That poor run of form has left them sitting 13th in the Premier League table, a deeply troubling position for a club of their stature and ambition.
TEAMtalk report that United are open to strengthening their attacking options despite already having Benjamin Sesko and Joshua Zirkzee available in their squad.
Kane has been identified as a target at Old Trafford, with the England forward’s existing Bayern Munich contract set to expire in the coming months.
Tottenham are also said to be ready to welcome Kane back to North London, where he previously established himself as their all-time leading scorer.
However, any potential deal faces a significant obstacle, with Bayern Munich reportedly confident they can persuade Kane to sign a fresh contract at the Allianz Arena.
Both clubs will need to make their move either in January or next summer if they are to have any realistic chance of prising him away from Bavaria.
Kane’s extensive Premier League experience and proven goal-scoring record would make him an attractive signing for either United or Spurs, should Bayern’s contract talks break down.
