Wha? My comment “is awaiting moderation?”

Moderation and I do not get along well. We have a long-standing and functioning understanding. Moderation stays away from me, and in return I do not part-take in it.

    Tonight:

    Gomes
    Hutton, Kab, Gallas, BAE
    Lennon, Luka, JJ, Niko
    Defoe, Crouch

Lennon was off color against Arse, but we need the pace if Bale can’t go. I’d go with 3MP over Pav just because the European sides have trouble with him. Keep VDV and Bale on the bench if they are only half fit.

You’ll have to remind me when Lennon has been “on colour”, this season!

      • seattlespursguy says:

Fair enough, though I don’t think he’s been dreadful. But even off color, pace always needs to be considered by the opponent. If Bale can’t go, Lennon gives that aspect.

I can’t help but be concerned. The Inter game (well, include the Bale hat-trick too in the 4-3 “battering” if you like) brings a certain level of Belief but defeats to Bolton (crushing, really) and Man Utd., throw in a Sunderland draw at home, An Arsenal game where we weren’t at the races for the above 45 minutes and I’m suddenly less confident. I could hardly say I was confident at any point on Saturday.

We love jangling the nerves. So I’ll hope for the best!

Redknapp’s doing the arm around the shoulder bit for Defoe now. “You can be one of the greats”.

Hope so. Perhaps he’ll be more of a team player, (instead of, “I’ve got the ball, I’m shooting”) and Van der Vaart’s presence/influence in the squad brings that out of him. His nod down to VdV this past Saturday offers a bit of encouragement, I suppose. But I’m a bit like TMWNN, and would like an upgrade – I would say whilst pretending we didn’t have to stretch the budget in order to perhaps achieve this!

I’m quite keen on Luis Suarez again. He’d bring a bit of bite.

  • TMWNN says:

I’d take any win, but a clean sheet would be nice with a few goals to the good – would be nice to win our first CL group.

    • seattlespursguy says:

I’m greedy. I dare to dream of us winning the group PLUS the Arse not advancing. Why, that would give them Thursday night football, wouldn’t it?

      • Fiedor says:

Le Arse qualification in the balance, Fabregas does him hamstring, Eboue stretchered off- great stuff! Now let’s do our bit! A lack of either Bale or VDV would worry me, despite the Bremen squad being equally injury depleted.

  • spurlative says:

IF Bale doesnt make the team tonight, surely Lennon should start on the left side? That would rejuvenate him. He only performs well when Bentley is fully fit, so based on that theory if he is on the left and trying to fill Bale’s boots he should perform, no?
