What the heck. Let’s have a rumour.
I’m struggling to remember the last time I bought a football mag. My guess would be the WH Smith on Waterloo about 10 years ago. The memory wanders as this morning on an Italian footy site 442 are named as the source of this midget gem.
Guillaume Hoarau is the name in the frame.
His name surfaced most recently when mooted as a ‘Plan B’ for Liverpool in their pursuit of Suarez. Then prior to this he was said to be on Aston Villa’s ‘radar’. His value appears to variy wildly depending upon who you ask and clicking about I’ve found estimates ranging from €6M to €14M. All of this suggests to me that his agent’s phone hasn’t actually rung at all much if not all of this was tubthumping, campaigning.
Or maybe our manager could devise a tactic or two whereby our existing mob might get to do what they’re paid to. Just a thought.

Anoint him center forward king of the of the yids.
Blimey, so many colours on the feet you could be forgiven for thinking it was a United Colours of… ad campaign pic.
And the description of the erm, song was incredibly apt.
We will sniff, then sniff some more and sniff some more and then try sign him on the cheap at the end of the window…and miss out as per usual. We can sniff all we want all we will end up with is a blocked fcking nose and no striker….again.
Back to the topic. He heads the ball. A lot.

Granted this is nearly 2 years old, mind. Perhaps he’s found his shooting boots.
Awful music. Mute button to enhance your viewing pleasure, methinks.
LSOP version2 minus all of the falling and head holding. At least he looks more like an NBA player.
So he’s like the poor man’s Pavlyuchenko?
I say buy a right back!
Pavy was the poor man’s Berba!! Why descend in stages? Lets just resign Ronny Rosenthal and be done with it.
What a load of toss…and I think I was served 25 pop ups wanting adventurers for the out-back.
What an absolute crock of shite the Russian and Defoe are (at least the Russian scored…)
Every member of the team has weighed in with a significant contribution to the teams success this year, except these two. Fresh, fit and biting at the bit these guys should have rolled over Blackpool all by themselves….if only he had played 4-5-1 to accomodate Crouch its likely we would have won.
But he saves Crouch (the man you want replaced, ahead of the other two) for the big money games where we stand a chance of winning…
So in a small way you are right Harry we do need to get rid of these two poor quality players and replace…but dear boy, Guillaume Hoarau is not the man and even suggesting him shows how desperate you must be for the pop up revenue.
Staying in the real world, I think we will get in a striker already playing in the Premiership and replace Pavlechenko, unfortunatley I think Defoe will stay for another season or two, since after a summer break and with fresh legs Defoe does produce in the first half of a season…
Regarding JD his goal return has been very poor since the end of 2009. It is almost as if the 5 he got against Wigan in THAT game was the peak of his powers. I agree that 451 was the way to go against Blackpool. They are strongest in midfield so 451 would have cancelled that out and allowed Krankie and Modders to get forward to support Crouch. Failing to sign any forwards in the last 3 transfer windows could be very costly indeed.
Just hope one of them can start firing , surely they cannot get any worse????
I’m pretty sure on the Blackpool showing that those two will have to be worked on by the coaching team they are so far behind the rest of the team its a joke!
If I was to make a huge guess and start a rumour that actually had a chance of coming true, I would go for the West Ham boy Carlton Cole.
Erm… Strikers aside anyone seen a shaven headed Scottish right back by the name of Alan Hutton last seen at Fulham not seen since?
Yes, Aldi cheap alcohol aisle
