Jay Bothroyd

If that didn’t get your attention then arguably little will. I could weep.

And a very ‘good morning to you’, too.

Jamie Bothroyd’s name has been cropping up with alarming regularity of late and slowly slowly it is beginning to emerge that this tale has legs. Which sounds like something Sid Trotter would say or at least Gerald Scarfe would draw.

And now a chap on Spurs Community, with the username of CorlukaModric says that Bothroyd is training with Sir Ledley King at David Lloyd in Finchley.

Championship sure shooter Bothroyd has been linked with a host of second string outfits. QPR, Celtic and Everton. And now us! Cynics, naysayers and disgruntled whipper uppers will tell you that this is a typical Arry signing. Little to base this on in truth, other than the fact the boy speaks English fluently and has displayed a healthy work ethic.

He’d be on a free of course and perhaps, cheap to feed. But where would we be heading here? Is this Frasier Dumbell 2.0? An argument might be made that if he could be signed and scored half a dozen goals between now and Christmas that in the Mental Asylum of the Premiership he could suddenly be worth £10M come Christmas Day.

My view is we have a squad the size of the Moscow State Circus and as many hangers on as their high wire act. I’d rather we culled a few of our minor celebs before getting ‘punts’ like Bothroyd in.

I think this would be a smart move by redknapp.

If you look at all the players we are trying to shift, Keane, Defoe, Hutton, Bentley and Jenas.

Spurs will be thin on the ground of players we can slaughter on a weekly basis. I doubt if Crouch and Pienaar can pick up the slack on their own.

So Bothroyd would be perfect. Someone we can hate from day one. Kinda reminds me of Chris Armstrong. Sure the boo boys will love that.

Actually, you may be right. This could be a very smart move.

Bothroyd turns up in the car park at Spurs Lodge. He is introduced to some of his new club mates, PSB, Bentley, Jenas, Hutton, Gio & The Sarge. When they see Bothroyd they’ll be wanting to fuck off and drop their wage demands at their new clubs quicker than Paris Hilton drops her knickers.

Then send Bothroyd out on loan to Botley Blindschool Reserves XI.

another ex gooner???? WTF is arry up to.we didnt have this many gooners when george graham(shiver runs down my spine) was in charge

Not every player we buy has to be a nailed on starter. Is he any worse than Keane? he would probably want a quarter of his wages. Would a strike force of Pav, Crouch, Bothroyd and (INSERT TOP STRIKER NAME HERE) be that bad? Pav has shown he can score goals, and doesnt mind being rotated. Crouch does work his socks off, and is a good bench player to bring in different situations, that leaves us needing one top firstnameontheteamsheet striker, and a back up with pace = Bothroyd??

The server issue has been resolved.

Ordinarily there is a hamster powering it but the problem with them is they have a habit of dying.

So the powers that be put a ZhuZhu hamster in. But that fecker’s battery went flat.

    Apologies to all.

Well that’s better than the donkey fed on Horlicks that powers our transfer dealings.

This Bothroyd fella, is he the Cad! that won the Tee shirt. or is he someone special, one of Sids nightmares.

sick and tired of people saying crouch is an option – hes fukin useless for crying out loud worststriker in the prem

Im tired of people slating him when he clearly is a proven premiership striker. Not only did he score the goal to get us in the CL, he kept us in it! He’s a donkey, I know, he should be 4th choice? Of course, but he adds more to the team then Pav does. You watch the last ten minutes of game we are winning, you watch how many times Crouch clears corners or chases down. He has also sets up chances. He’s a good squad member!

Completely agree, it’s no wonder Modric wants to leave. Would you want to play in a team with that thing stumbling around up front?
