Modders Depressed – Ah, Diddums.

Good morning. Is this the calm after the storm or before it? I do like a good shipping forecast.

Reading between the lines from Arry  the  cosy chat betwixt the Croat and the Chairman rather left old Modders in a state of shock. Deflated and emotionally done in.

All I can say to that is, ‘ Ah diddums.’

He appears to have genuinely thought that this is how you do things over here. To a certain degree he was right, of course. But to attempt what he was attempting with a shade under 5 years on his contract was …well, ambitious.

Just like little Luka, I don’t understand quite how footballer’s contracts work. But I’d imagine that signing one and then saying you’ve changed your mind a few months down the line is akin to buying say a house for cash – and then tracking down the vendor 6 months later – and saying you don’t want it any more. Gone off it.

I would imagine Cheatski’s offer to triple his wages would have come as small comfort to him if he was liable to recompense Levy & Co for the remainder of the term. Ball park 233 weeks @£60k pwk = £13,980000. Ouch.

Elsewhere we have a quote from Citizen Redschnapps in relation to our old mucker PSB. Apparently he’s very much still in the mix at The Lane. Lucky us. Translated that’s nobody will accept a fiver to take him away. I’ve been accused of being conveniently forgetful about the good works that Blistering Bob did for us. And it’s true. I don’t dent it.

But the last straw for me was when he was at Celtic and was asked what his next move was and with a completely straight face he replied, ‘Oi have a contract wid Tottingham.’ With this streak of shamelessness perhaps he could get a job in Starbucks. Their always looking for people who can ask £6 for a coffee and a muffin without corpsing.

Elsewhere the ITK’s have run aground. Their finely honed attention seeking radars know we need succour for the weekend and so they can’t simply say nothing. So Leandro’s name has been regurgitated once more.

On that note, I know it’s July but don’t forget a coat this weekend, you may well need it. Oh yes, the video below is good if you like Cleese.

I think the reason no incomings are happening are simply because the Copa America is on. All… ALL our targets are there. Some of them may be dreams, but others may be more realistic. Personally if we could get Aguero I would be over the moon, but maybe ever so slightly more realistic would be Benzema and Eto’o.

Some “ITK” dude just said we’ve had no offers for the black list players…

Is this squad mismanagement? or should harry not be bleating “need to sell to buy” at every opportunity? ARGH!

ITK is talking dogsh*t, ITK – In The Know more like ITKN – Idiot That Knows Nothing.

Harrys bleating however is a cause for concern, telling all and sundry that we’re overloaded and desperate to sell our players is just going to drive the prices down and make it HARDER to get rid of them at a fair price (not over optimistic price)

Hence bids like £2 for Keane from Blackburn. We probably want £6-£7M, where as really a fair price would be something more like £4-£5M.

I thought his reputation was as a shrewd wheeler dealing (‘Im not a f*cking wheeler dealer, im a f*cking football manager’) well his not been too shrewd or clever this last year.

You can be a media friendly manager without spouting all the rubbish Harry has been and riling things up even more with stupid arse comments. Its just sending out a beacon of ‘we’re not actually able to compete, our champions league adventure was a one off’ We should be kicking on. Levy sure as hell wants to but Redknapp seems a little unsure. We need leadership, balls out lets get up and at em mentality. Not an excuse culture which ARSEne W*nker has nurtured over at that lot the last few years. I’m starting to wish our next signing is Ancelotti……

I know this won’t go down well but to slag of Wenger is pretty silly,he’s performed miracles over Arsenal and he has got loads of justified excuses,i’d have him at Spurs in a heartbeat

you’re right. it won’t go down well. perhaps he can bring sol in as assistant? :-X

The reason Wenger is so lorded over there is because

        1) He got them playing proper football. The type that as Spurs fans you’ve always EXPECTED the team to play. Before his arrival gooners always had to suffer the ‘Boring Boring’ tag as thats all theyd ever played, long ball merchants and dirty cheat tactics. He bought the beautiful game to them

        2) Most obviously is the success, trophys that he bought and the teams they had in the first 9-10 years with them. He put together some fantastic sides with quality players (as much as it pains me to say.)

Ever since the emptycrates however (and their FA cup ‘victory’ where they were absolutely slaughtered by Utd but managed to drag it to pens and win a shoot out) he’s blamed this, that, the other, ‘not seen’ half of their failings on the pitch. They are no in a situation where they cant shed this inferiority complex. In short theyve lost their winning mentality, which has to flow down from the man in charge of the team.
The last few years theyve been riding on the wave of his overall success at the club, They could very well be about to lose their best players and drop out of the top four. Sound familiar?

So yes, i am using Wenger as an example of how making excuse after excuse can have a negative impact on the team. And NO, I would not have Wenger at Spurs in a heartbeat! I’m sure many Spurs fans wouldn’t either.

What happened to Harry of 2009/2010. Talking us up and inspiring his team that that pot of gold is in reach and they’re all good enough to be there?

He tried that route & everyone rounded on him for being unrealistic. Around the same time as they were saying ‘can’t he be like other managers and talk up our prospects’ and around the time they were saying ‘Can’t he shut up’ around the time they were saying ‘Can’t he be more confident’… And on and on and on…

I’m going to go, I’m just going to cause an argument.

          Signed…

Theres a difference in keeping it level headed and either saying we’re gonna in the league!!!! or ‘no we cant compete, lets all pack up now’ ‘this is as good as it gets’ ‘Modders and Bale might as well go join one of them rich teams over there, i know id love to.’

2009/2010 he played it perfectly, talked up our chances but was downbeat about it to the press. Where as you could see behind the scenes and on the pitch with the lads they believed they could do it.

Hes not selling the club to the players we have or the ones we want to get in at the moment. Saying ‘its difficult’ is basically saying ‘you can come here but i wouldnt be so sure of success we could be an also ran’

It’s called covering up for one’s own inadequacies. He balls’ed it up big time styli, and it’s all our fault for doubting him, it’s Levy’s fault for not backing him (between the lines), but never his or those surrounding him, strange eh?

  • BOB says:

Ancelotti! rest well my Roger moore eyebrowed Italian friend. The mighty Spurs may need to contact you soon.

  • Fatfish says:

I bet ‘Arry ain’t so talkative with the media come 18th July when he’s up in front of the old Barnaby.
