Me again.
Two bits of nice news. The first is that I’ve had it confirmed that Sir Ledders is being assessed for the Norf Landan Darby™ today and it is thought he will be fit and ready to participate on Sunday.
To this extent his web chat on Twitter will be slightly delayed and should now kick off about 1330hrs today.
Ledley King will appear before fans to give his opinions on the match and the 2011 / 12 Barclays Premier League so far. Fans can submit questions to the defender in advance (now) via the Barclays Football Facebook page and the Barclays Footy Twitter account, using the hashtag #AskLedley as well as live during the interview today.
The best questions will be put to Sir Ledders Of King, giving fans the chance to interact live with our Club Captain.
If you miss the chance to watch Ledley King live, the full interview will be available on the Barclays Football You Tube channel from Friday afternoon.
Is it too early to be thinking about the XI for Sunday?
For the first time in a while, we’ve got a few selection headaches:
Defoe or VDV up front
Sandro or Modric in the middle
Lennon / Modric / VDV on the right
For me, the key is no round pegs in square holes – so RM worries me slightly…
Friedel
Walker Kaboul King BAE
Modric Sandro Parker Bale
VDV
Adebayor
C O Y S ! ! ! BIOYFGC ! ! !
I suspect that is the line up HR will pick. It is really flexible in that it becomes a 3-5-2 with Walker bombing down the right and Bale down the left. The key is making sure we play at high tempo like against Liverpool. If we press high up the pitch the Arsenal defence looks vulnerable. Our centre midfield of Sandro and Parker looks very strong, and assuming Ledley is fit we have a solid looking spine. COYS
I would be shocked if that is not the team. Maybe Defoe starts, with VdV on the right and Sandro to the bench. But if that was the plan, Defoe wouldn’t have played so much last night.
That’s the line up. I’m hopeful that Luka can run the show from a nominal right mid position. Walker has to shine to make it work. Yidrme!
I know I’m going to sound old and senile and stupid (my 3 best qualities according to my wife) but what does daumen mean?
I think the delay in you getting a reply from a patronising ITK says it all.
“No-one knows”.
It’s the German for thumbs.
Let’s rip those goons a new one.
Uber Daumen :daumen:
Really enjoyed everything about last nights game, and full credit to Rovers and their fans. As for Sunday? I’d never predict anything about this fixture, and as my backside tightens to that of a constipated mouse’ I never will as I’ve been down that road far too often to assume anything. Nice buzz about the place though-Long live the King!
What the hell is this bollix about sandro and parker in midfield…..parker and modders all day long for me, i dont think playing the scum is the best time to start playing 2 def midfielders, when anyone with a brain knows that modric is a million times better in the middle, arse hardly enforce everyone they play these days, is luca a winger now? wtf
Who would you play on the right?
Townshend
Friedel
Walker Kaboul King BAE
Townshend Modders Parker Bale
VdV Adebayor
Yachtie – I admire your faith in the kids…
…but, would you really put Townsend ahead of Lennon, Walker, Modric, Van der Vaart and Dos Santos on the right?
He’s a leftie, for starters! ;)
Doesn’t matter where Luka lines up as long as he is on the ball and free to move. If we crowd the opposition mids off the ball like we have done the past few weeks we’ll win.
I think I’m on my own, in thinking Carroll, was a bit off, compared to the other games, he seemed to keep giving the ball away.
I don’t know what ‘daumen’ means, but i know what malneirophrenia means, I get every time we’re due to play the Woolwich.
Sad B’stard!
Daumen.
Cheer up!
Don’t take offence!
I like Iceland.
The band are a bit morbid, though!
