A big well done to Chris Purvis of Colchester who has won a copy of Norman Giller’s, ‘The Managing Game.’
I received my own copy a few days ago and have to say it’s simply tip top. A book of two halves is how Uncle Norm describes it and he ain’t wrong. The first half is a definitive analysis of every single Tottenham Hotspur manager there has ever been. Even fans who would like to think of themselves as having an encyclopedic knowledge of the Lilywhites will pick up something new here.
The second half of the book is a great read. Norm has lovingly compiled the all time XI’s of so many fans and each one is well worth a read. The dream teams fielded had to adhere to one golden rule. You could only select players from your time spent as a fan. Players from your era. So If you’re 25 and put Jimmy Greaves in your team …you were thick to be published!
There is still one copy left of The Managing Game to be won! All you need to do is answer the following question. How many books has Norman had published with Jimmy Greaves? A None B 19 or C 1,882 email your answer to aurthor@normangillerbooks.co.uk
Colchester is a town I have a working knowledge of. If you are ever that way, keep an eye out for Gilly. DJ, public figure extraordinaire and all round top top geezer.
