Good evening.
And the headline of course alludes to the popular beat combo The Rolling Stones’ and their toe tapping choon, ‘Mixed Emotions.’
And so is being concerned about just how profligate in front of goal we were this afternoon to make me, us etc somehow …ungrateful?
An emphatic ‘no’ is the right answer.
We were gifted the sending off of Cahill. It wasn’t a red no matter how much anti-freeze you’ve consumed. Did this daft act by the ref then go on to destroy the game? Another emphatic ‘no’ is the right answer.
Bolton are – if they are really quite awfully lucky – going to find somebody to give them a lump for Cahill in January and if they invest brilliantly they might they stay in the Premiership.
We lack depth and never more so was it revealed today. We need all our bestest players on the pitch at the same time if we want to either win, or indeed win well.
Bleedin’ Nora Aitch, s’pose you want Arry out annorl? We wun dinnun we? Yes my old friend we did. But everything in this life is comparative.
Far too many missed opportunities today against a 10 man team of relegation fodder. And Bolton weren’t a wounded beast making a brave stand. Nor was Jaaskelainen making history with his cat like saves.
It’s all a bit of a muddle up front as Babs Windsor said after getting stuck in a revolving door with Sidney James and Bernard Bresslaw. We clearly need to sort this out. The opportunities missed today were as embarrassing as that naffin’ Blackpool game.
Please don’t get me wrong, delighted we won. Delighted. But what a fist of it we managed to make.
Player ratings in morning.
J***s shot by a Villa sniper from the stands? :ninja:
If Jenas got shot and tried to hit the floor when he fell, he’d miss.
I am quite enjoying these win at a canter matches as opposed to the old “clinging on for dear life”
performances we used to get.
Todays match would have been a substantial banana skin for old spurs although I guess the ref removed that possibility with the red card.
Next week at Stoke could be tricky. Remember we previously dealt with the Delap long throw by having Gomes come out and either punching or catching the ball. Cannot see Brad doing that so prepare for a nervous ninety.
Nothing makes me more nervous than Gomes fisting, and I am a Gomes fan.
Watch out, you can get arrested for doing that!
We need Ledders back for that, but I hope we don’t go for Cahill, and I’m not referring to today’s performance either. Samba is a better option and looked up the Ajax player we’ve been linked with and he looks pretty decent, although youtube isn’t a great way to assess a players abilities.
Hard to imagine how poor Villa have been when they have Jenas, Hutton and Bent starting for them.
***** seems to have put himself out of action by tripping over his own foot.
What an utter waste of space he is!
It might have been an extra long and thick blade of grass. Somehow doubt Villa will be in a rush to sign him at the end of his loan spell.
I genuinely believe that he was so uncomfortable and unsure of himself out on that pitch today, that he actually faked his own injury so that he could do his hiding off the field rather than the usual on it.
Why we kept him on the pay roll for the length of time we did, will forever be a mystery to me.
he ain’t off the payroll yet
We don’t want him injured he could be worth at least 5 bob. As for Bentley (remember him) half a’ sixpence. There you go Tommy Steele does Harry Redknapp….Top, Top, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNXreg0h9Ug
Crash, bang, wallop-what a plonker, what a poser, what a waste of dosh.
V.clever and Funny too. :daumen: :daumen: :daumen:
On another tack (and yes my blood runs cold at the thought of us facing a decent team with ‘strikers’ in that form and also the thought of us not buying a goalscorer in January), they are going to make each club spend heavily on goal-line technology next year. I’ll done the stats and can reveal that clubs will need such technology somewhere between never and once per season. The money must be spent on ROBOT REFS. Today’s ref is being fast-tracked to the top, as he’s the best of the young crop. The Lord protect us, in that case. The only solution is ROBOT REFS. It’s gotta happen.
I see Alex and Anelka have requested transfers.
Can see us going in for them although wages might be a problem.
Hope not, neither offer anything other than a drain of our resources. If they’re not good enough for Chelsea why should they be good enough for us?
The thing about Annelka is that whenever he changes clubs, he has a honeymoon period where he plays brilliantly for half a season, before he remembers he is bigger than the game itself.
I wonder if we could get him on loan until the end of the season?
Half a crown a week…..and Sundays off.
I agree with you Essex76 but you know how HR loves a bargain and I believe he was singing Anelka’s praises the other day.
Maybe better than the Russian.
He was singing everyone’s, he just loves to sing does Harry, especially when there’s an audience ;-)
