Good morning gentlemen of the press.

Our Arry’s held a presser this morning and courtesy of @BenPearceSpurs here are all the quotes fit to print.

On Pathe News Boy:

Scott Parker is ‘struggling’ to be fit to face Everton tomorrow. ‘It would be a surprise if he’s fit. In fact it’s very very doubtful’

On Sir Ledley King’s Hamstring:

‘He’s had a scan. It’s not too bad but he’s not going to be fit for tomorrow’.

 On tapping up Transfers:

Redknapp was asked about Loic Remy, Demba Ba, Chris Samba and Junior Hoilett – and said there’s interest in all of them. “‘We’re not close to anything, we’re not desperate for anybody. There are good players here who aren’t getting a game”.

Reading ‘Physio Room’ is like tuning in to TalkSh*te. You know it’s a waste of time, that it will rot your brain eventually, but sometimes you just can’t help it.

Unfortunately, I believe Arry. I don’t think he sees CB as a problem. Worrying.

  • bankokspur says:

22 mil for Loic Remy ? he has only hit 7 goals in 17 thats less than VDV and Bale

Having read a few sites in the past few days, it amazes me how down people are on Daws. The man was a colossus when we qualified for CL, playing alongside someone different almost every week. Yes he has been injured and perhaps might take a bit of time to settle in again, but I challange anyone to name a PL team he would not get into right now. In fact, with the exception of United I believe he would walk into ANY PL team even when everyone is fit…

    • Alpha T says:

I happen to agree with you Anti-fickler, Daws has improved sooooooo much over the last couple of seasons (he used to be just average with a few horrid mistakes made him not believe), once he shakes off the physio table dust he’ll be a defencive force to wreckon with yet again!

    • SpurredoninDublin says:

Don’t make you wrong. Importantly, he has plenty of heart which helps to make up for some of his deficiencies. Usually when he is with Ledley, he is near faultless.

      • essexian76 says:

If heart and enthusiasm were a commodity, both Daws and Kaboul would be priceless, but a centre back needs guile and unfortunately neither have it, but fingers crossed as Everton are just as vulnerable in the same areas with Jagielka and Cahill missing.

    • LLL says:

Might could be that people are a little worried as the last outing for the Kaboom/Awesome pairing saw 8 goals shipped in two games?

Without a doubt, both have always looked much more assured when they have one of either King or Gallas there to clean up when they have a little accident. I don’t see any reason other than blind optimism to suggest that this may have changed whilst Daws has been injured…

      • Anti-fickler says:

Possibly, but then look at who was playing in front of them…
Dawson was the form CB in the country in 2010 but hasn’t reached the same heights since getting injured for England. I am not convinced we have seen him in a run of games when fully fit and I’ll wager that if we do fans will once again be singing his praises.

        • LLL says:

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always been a keen supporter of Dawson. But it’s pretty obvious he has some key weaknesses – mainly his pace is non-existent, and especially so on the turn when he can be duped and left for dead on occasion. Combined with Kaboul’s (admittedly lessening) capability to have a complete lapse in concentration and there is always the ingredients for a possible disaster. King and Gallas are both really slow nowadays but they offset that with intelligent reading of the play whereas Daws and Kaboom seem to play more with their heart than their head.

    • ricospur says:

tries hard blah blah blah but is ultimately poor too many mistakes wev moved on

      • Anti-fickler says:

Ricospur – obviously not if he is playing as out Captain!
Also, I don’t recall too many mistakes in 2009/10 season? Two games against the Manchesters when, frankly, I’m not sure anyone came out with too much credit doesn’t make the player or the man.
You know the saying about class and form?
Well I can only conclude that in this case support is temporary but fickleness is permanent!

        • MysteriousStranger says:

Tevez said Dawson was the toughest CB he’d played against in the Prem. I guess he probably doesn’t know what he’s talking about, when compared to some of the above contributors

        • Frontwheel 2 says:

          MS..meefuckingoww

  • girlie3 says:

So Livermore and Modders in the middle then. On the bright said, Lennon should be back :D

    • LLL says:

Might be a bit ‘open’ but I’d sooner play Peanut with Modric in the middle than Livermore. It’s his old club and he is captain of his international team after all. Livermore is obviously a ‘smashing lad’ that Redknapp has taken a shine to, but he looks less likely to impose himself on the game than Jenas, to me anyway.

      • jim says:

Thats a good call. He would have a bit of fire in the belly for this one. :daumen:

        • Alspur says:

I think I’d rather have Livermore, tbh… a bit more of a physical presence against the likes of Fellaini…

Having said that, looks like Everton have got even more injury worries than we have – let’s get at ’em, I say!!
