Bon soir.

Except it isn’t ‘bon’ is it? Fakinel.

And we genuinely ought to look at why we find ourselves having been thumped by them. Because thumped we were. We were winning 2-0. We looked like a home side that was assured about it’s business.  Then we collapsed.

The half time whistle was an opportunity for us to regroup, rethink and restore. What we got in reality was a half cocked exercise in damage limitation and a fundamental lack of scope and imagination.

Elsewhere…the days of Bale listening to his naffin’ agent and thinking he’s Wales’ valley’s answer to Ronaldo are over. It’s a mess. It doesn’t work. It needs to be stopped. Today we lacked width and it really cost us. Really hurt us. The reality is his behaviour cost us. That son of a bitch needs to be tamed/managed for once and for all.

And Lennon. If Azza was on the bench …er, then why?

Elsewhere another lesson was learnt. Ledley King is done. To presume we can mount a challenge in the Barclays Premiership without a full on back four is surreal. I respect Ledley immensely but nect term we need to shop for a ‘another’ replacement.

I’m depressed by today because of all my words prior to the match the most chilling now are that it was ours to throw away. The come back by Arsenal up until half time was down to spirit and courage. Our collapse in the second half was down to Redschnapps.

Where was the width (that’s what she said).  Where was the wit and imagination? I have been blasted for having a pop at Arry in this incredibly successful season, but can any of you tell me he genuinely got today right?

Arry has indeed worked his magic at Tottenham and I’m hugely appreciative. But I don’t have any sacred cows. Today was a monumental clusterfeck tactically and whilst I could put conceding 2 in the first half down to their ‘enthusiasm’, conceding another 3 in the second half points towards incompetence.

“having to read the opportunist diatribe of some promoting HR’s removal really makes me weep”.

Erm, really?……..and who exactly is forcing him out to take the poisoned chalice that is the Ing-er-lund job?…….Levy?, the fans?, or do you think it may be Twitchy himself?

Instead of fucking us about he should at least have the common decency to let us know whether he is staying or not!

Or is that asking too much of his Highness?

I think he’s said quite ureservedly that he’s definitely staying for the rest of the season. That’s what matters right now. You may believe he’s full of it (“you can tell he’s lying because his lips are moving” type thing), but until events prove it so, I’ll give him the benefit on this one (you are of course to make up your own mind, don’t want to start a fight :-).

And I think it would be silly for him to say now “I am leaving at the end of the season”, because
      A) He might not get the England call. The press have decided that he will, but I’ve always felt that the FA absolutely hate having their actions dictated by the press. I would not be shocked if they gave it to someone else just to underline how fantastically autonomous they are.
      B) Even if he is leaving at the end of the season, what good would it do to state it in public? I mean, besides ensuring that 99% (up from 50% now) of every pre/post match interview with him was about England and not Spurs.

Whatever we all do or don’t know, I am mightily convinced that Levy is in the loop, and taking the appropriate actions to plan for the future (short term and long term).

I can see where you’re coming from Los, but uncertainty like this isn’t good from anyone’s perspective- i don’t like it and i’m sure most of the players and fans don’t either!

As far as starting a fight……..i’m just not that way inclined  :daumen:

        • LosLorenzo says:

No disagreement on that point. Uncertainty is poison. But so is wholesale change in the middle of an (otherwise) very successful season.

Rock and a hard place, without a doubt.

There’s merit to advocating “pulling off the bandaid”. I just think the Ingerlund media bonanza around ‘Arry will die down a little once Pearce has led them out for the friendly (I hope), and that the lads will get back to worrying about not looking like precious ickle ballerinas on the pitch rather than Aitch’s career development. I’d rather not start putting in place a new regime right now if it can be avoided (case in point, AVB at Cheatscum).

“just not that way inclined”. Now you’re just taking the piss Mr. Legitski!

Gloating? you’ve been at it for while. you surely can take some in return , nothing unusual. Don’t cry like a baby. Don’t go ahead of yourselves.Games are not won in the first 10 minutes and the season ends in May. I think your players have started to believe the hype and thought job is done, did not see a fight or anything from your players, If your team plays like they did yesterday there will be no top 4 for you.

    • LosLorenzo says:

You’re right. If we play like that every week we’ll drop down the table like a stone. Luckily, you are also right in pointing out that it’s a long season. One game is only 3 points (thank goodness for that).

They DID look like they thought the job was done (especially after they fluked their way to a 2 goal lead). Luckily this was the exception, not the rule this season. One embarrassing performance aside, we have twice the squad of Le Arse. And I stand by the assertion that you’ll not get CL qualification come May. If Van Rapist picks up a knock (you’ve been lucky that he’s stayed fit all season so far, he usually doesn’t) you’ll be lucky to get European football at all. Oh, and good luck without him next season ;-)

Cant believe the abuse A&E is getting. He had a groin operation last Monday FFS! He was obviously unfit. Lennon is also recently back from injury and was probably unfit too. I mean does anyone really know the truth?
Krankie had a good game the week before and we have ‘the best squad in the league’ that we’re supposed to use on rotation. Or did i miss something?
Sandro and VDV are both unfit.

Because A&E was unfit, it left King exposed to Walcott. yes kaboul and king lacked cohesion at times but it was the other factors causing this.

In retrospect its easy to say what should have happened or who should of started. Rose at left back? bale at Left back? Yes, maybe…but we had beaten Newcastle with that same team a week before so why should we go somewhere and play their game and not ours?

We looked shaky, tired on the legs. the atmosphere of the place got to us. all that big talk before the game means we shot our load in our pants before hitting the pitch…

Plus they decided to turn up because it means so much to them to beat us. Thats a compliment in a way.

  • Tim says:

Absolutely gutted. Back to the bad old days. The signs were there with that dreadful display at Stevenage when a bumpy pitch seemed to bamboozle our boys. Arsenal were there for the taking. We didn’t really deserve a 2-0 lead but from that position to lose five goals is pitiful. I agree Ledley is a busted flush. He was a great player but is no more. Bale has got to do what he does best roar down the wing and why Azza was not bombing down the other side only Harry knows

  • Rustynuts says:

I`m wondering how many fans lost money on the game. A mate of mine said it was as good as buying money!
