Good afternoon.
I’ve resisted posting on the subject of Bale this week as all I had to say I said here. What has been interesting is that when that piece went out it drew some pretty vociferous responses.
‘Biggest load of reproductive spheres ever written’, ‘You’re talking crap’, ‘What the hell is this garbage?’ ‘You’re a tool’, ‘You’re way off the mark, Harry.’
Yet ever since the Emptycrates debacle most forums one could find were merging threads on the unchecked lunacy of Bale quicker than you could say ‘What the naff is he doing?!’
But is all of this academic? The Daily Mail are reporting that the boy Bale is banjaxed. A grade A torn hamstring. I’m not a medical man but I do know that the best supermarket chickens are grade A; so we can only presume his hamstring to be fresh, plump and succulent.
But better sources than the Mail, say like @BenPearce on Twitter believe it’s only a knock and nothing as bad as suggested. In fact it is probable he will play.
Walker’s out, PNB’s out. Ledders must have a question mark over him the size of a zeppelin. Gallas if fit hasn’t played a competitive game since 1978 and van der Vaart as ever is going to let us know on the day.
So what becomes of the broken hearted? Spurs fans are due a competent performance on Sunday. Playing Manchester United is no mean feat and we cannot afford any more foul ups.
Bale on one wing, Azza on the other. Tactics worthy of a top four team from the manager. Game on.
BIOYMUC!
Surely Defoe must be due a start now!
I can’t be the only one who thinks our strikers have been average for a while now, and Jermain is like a hungry dog, so let him off his lead!
You mean Saha (2) and 4-assist (1 goal) Ade against Barcodes?
Saha off PNB’s arse v Stevenage and one against Arse?
You’re right.
You are probably not the only one to think that!
Stop ars n around :-D
Easy Bruxie!
How dare u bring up anything from the game against Woolwich, especially the jammiest goal we’ve scored all season from Saha!
Ade has given us something new upfront, but he showed his best form when he played up top with Defoe!
And for VdV, as much as I love him he aint done nothing for a while!
Now I’m know I’m not the only one that thinks that!
I like Ade. He gives us something new.
Cause Defoe was really shining vs Stevenage indeed..
he was honestly terrible..
If you take it a game at a time, please tell me the last time VDV actually performed?,or when did Ade last trap a ball first time?. We’ve started to get above ourselves during the 2nd half of the Bolton game and have since forgotten the basics of how we got to where we were. For half an hour on Sunday we managed to easily get a two goal lead and pretty much strolled it, resulting in a golden opportunity to get a third if Bale had looked up and squared instead of shooting from a harder angle. pass, move and graft-not pass, stroll and stare, and then lark about playing silly bollocks with the opposition. Our season hinges on this game, but will Harry’s inferiority complex over SAF once more raise it’s head?
Lennon on the flippin’ wing Harry-not Krankie or Rafa-but a bloody winger-on the bloody wing!
I just hope we win. Man Utd lost 6-1 to their rivals and went on a great run.
Anyone else concerned that with Parker not there, we will essentially be playing the same team that got tonked by Manure at the start of the season…? Except Ade, but without the ball he is as much use as a lamp post.
I’m not….
See!!
Consistency……it’s the key :daumen:
Defoe for the last twenty minutes if we are drawing or winning 3-0.
Seeing as you don’t rate defoe,
What’s your starting 11?
Friedel
A&E
King
Kaboul
Walker
Sandro
Modders
Lennon
Bale
Saha or VdV
Ade
And before you say some are injured read the following.

Hopefully Walker will be fit.
And A&E should be fully recovered from his op. He was obviously out of sorts last week.
Me saying people are injured, I don’t read the Daily Mail! Its only official if its on our website or Sky Sports!
I agree with your starting 11 apart from leaving about Jermain.
I don’t wanna sound like I’m dickriding him to much, and he does frustrate me so much sometimes but he’s a goalscorer, plain and simple.
How many times this season have we been on the attack and no-one is in the box, because Ade’s wide right trying to create and VdV can’t keep up.
We don’t get enough goals from midfield bar Bale, and he’s feeling himself too much right now. Defoe hasn’t played for ages and everytime he’s got going he’s been unlucky and has got injured.
The numbers speak volumes, he’s got 8 in 17 in the league and 12 in all competitions. Considering the amount of game time he’s had, that aint bad.
Last but not least, out of all our strikers he’s the only one fighting for something. He wants to go to the euros and he wants to play for Spurs.
We can’t honestly say the same for the rest of our strikers!
Rant over, COYS!
Fair enough.
But Saha is doing well. You cannot deny his scoring rate – and the PNB deflection at Stevenage – in the last three games.
He has a presence. Defoe is usually uninvolved and does frustrate me.
Still – as I said earlier – he’s worth bringing on if the game is stale or if we are three up to refresh the attack.
I like your thinking re Defoe, has an awful lot to play for with the Euro’s coming up..
BAE wasn’t fully fit on sunday and had no help with Bale going walk about.
Absolutely correct!
Then why was he playing?
