Very strange as I am typing this on an iPad, mine is constantly prompting but with the US spelling which most of us know to be crap, the answer is to proof read and correct.

The bubble that comes up underneath the word you are typing with blue lettering is called a prompter, have you not noticed it yet ? That gives you an idea as to how the word is likely to be spelt.
