Huddlestone Loaned To Stoke [subject to medical]

Good morning.

Another tale to tug at the heart strings of some.

Tommy ‘Smack My Ketchup’ Huddlestone is set to join Stoke Anti Football Club on a season long loan this morning. My view is that he won’t be missed. My patience with the guy evaporated some time back.

Yes, the touch of an angel, but for all the dreamy 30 yard shots how many were ever on target? I don’t have the stats but I’ve been watching Spurs continuously throughout Tom’s time with us and the answer is in single figures. If he had truly wanted to knuckle down and improve he could have done so by now.

He was England U16, U17,U19, U20, U21 and in the last four years he’s struggled to make 3 senior appearances. Less iPod, less tattoos, less haircut, less hard done by Tweeting and …more football.

I wouldn’t wish a loan move to Stoke on many people, but this will be a sink or swim job. If he wants a career rather than a salary then he needs to apply himself.

    Hudd is going but Jenas and Bentley are still with us – am I missing something here? He’s a wonderful player and I disagree with most of what’s been posted here. I think playing next to Sandro as the midfield “shield” combination, spraying passes a la Hoddle would have been an option. Very sad if he goes but Stoke!!!

      Supply and demand old boy, supply and demand.

      I mean, if you were a manager would you buy Jenas or Bentley?

      Spraying passes is not what we want…short fast ones are the order of the day. Hudds neither short or fast!

    • Hot_Spur says:

      Did you see him “spraying passes” in the pre season games? Most of them went straight to opponents, that’s why he’s being shipped out.

        You mean in the 15 minutes he was given? I think he played twice, looked ropey in one and fantastic in the other. He’s back from long term injury, he is likely to be somewhat rusty. Jeez.

    Hmm. I like Hudd, but a season on loan could get his apetite back.

    Just worried about his hair – he said he wouldnt cut it till he scored for us again….. itll be beyond his knees when that happens …. just like my donger (when sitting down obviously)

    Forward the revolution!

    Must be two or three more players coming.

      Indeed, it is becoming more of a REVOLUTION than an EVOLUTION….

      More of the same, please!

      there will be, at the rate we’re unloading deadwood we won’t be stuck with J**** & bentley for long

      we get attached to players like hudd due to the fact they’ve performed well in the past but the true test of a player’s abilities is the quality of clubs who want to sign them up

      most of our deadwood is going to clubs fighting relegation

    @Cyprus_Yid:
    I actually had an old 1972 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, 6.75l of V8 power, when it was tuned it went like stink, it didn’t turn too well, not very nimble, and often broke down. It was luxurious, very thirsty, but not essential. It was fun whilst it lasted, but I don’t miss it. It cost too much money to keep whilst not being used very often. Sorry to see you go old chap, enjoyed the ride…no go hoof it up to Crouchy! :0}

    Would have preferred we sold him outright. Too slow for the AVB revolution.

    The more fringe players we can sell the better – bring in a couple of quality players.
