Good morning.
The Capital One Cup then. The boss’ selection will be interesting given the fact that Manchester United areĀ lying in wait to pounce Saturday teatime. That said, it is Carlisle. Our opponents are currently 10th in the NPower League 1. To perhaps give you a reference point Orient are 14th in the same division.
The Yanited vs Toon game is the one on the telly here in the UK but it’s difficult to believe our game will be featured anywhere other than on the wireless [clicky].
Last night’s games were a mixed bag. Cheatski battered Wolves 6-0, Swansea beat Crawley Town 2-3, Southampton kept the train a rollin’ with a 2-0 at home to Sheffield Wednesday. There were two comedy results of course. Manchester City the current Premier League Champions were beaten at home by European giants Aston Villa. What made my night was West Ham getting walloped by Wigan 1-4. This was gold; Fat Sam’s programme notes told the Primark Posse he felt this was cup they could win.
I won’t bother you with a chalkboard, but I do think this game will see some significant changes. Given it’s Carlisle I would be happy enough to unleash the likes of Cudicini, Dawson, Jenas, Livermor and Huddlestone. I want us to field decent teams in all competitions, but this may well be a mud, blood and guts affair. So at this level we just need everyone we need for the weekend to come home with all their limbs attached.
Anyone know when Parker is expected back?
November.
If you don’t like BBC London’s audio visual description of two blokes squinting at the telly, we’re actually the main commentary on 5 Live this evening…
I prefere radio London s commentory at least its biased towards spurs for a change
And when the game goes off the boil, they tend to discuss stuff like how weak their tea is …which I quite like.
Expect 5-Live to run a bunch of ‘AVB under pressure’ cobblers. Should the mighty border-botherers get a goal, Alan Green might implode in a masturbatory frenzy.
Doesn’t that defy the laws of physics? Still it would be an interesting experiment.
Not if it’s CERN
I need visuals. Could someone stream some women pushing player bobbleheads around on a plotting table? http://www.saak.nl/battlefield%20tour/2008%20england/battle%20of%20britain/battle%20of%20britain%20%2817%29.jpg
Genius.
I may have to get the old crayons out for a ‘Highlights Reenactment’ blog
…’And the reserves?’
‘They’re all up’
‘That’s what I just told the PM’
Genius.
Fantastic…Bales out into a greenhouse and young boy offers a cigarette..from a case mind you…thanks awfully..
AVBs team talk at the weekend should be punctuated with shouting ‘Dag-a-dag-a-dag-a-dag-a-a’ at the younger players.
Apparently Lloris has been left at the Lane for this one.
I can only assume it’s for the reason in this article and that AVB is worried that we’ll get beat up by the league one club.
That said we’ve got enough quality in the squad to win this easily and still put out our first choice team out on Saturday.
My only worry is if Vert plays. Shouldn’t we wrap him up in cotton wool before going to Manchester?
Not sure Cudicini needs much game time. Maybe it’s rude but Lloris may get a bit of practice at defending himself from oafs attacking the ball hoofed into the mixer?
Left back a huge problem tonight as I can’t see Jan or Bale playing. Naughton may be fit.
Ade could maybe do with a 20 min run-out if fit
Sigi needs to find some form and a goal or two would be a confidence boost.
Lloris
Smith
caulker
Dawson
naughton
J***s
Hudd
Falque
Townsend
Sigi
mason
Don’t think Naughton made the preliminary squad so is still injured.
Isn’t Mason on loan?
Nope, he was on the bench against QPR and played (briefly) against Lazio.
