Good morning.
The latest Hotspur’s Half Hour is out and packed to the gills with thrills, spills and bellyaches.
On this week’s show we’ve what can only be described as an historic mash up featuring Jan Vertonghen and The Eagles courtesy of our one man house band and musical arranger Mr Loveridge of Membrane Audio. Worth the price of admission alone. What a choon.
But the cherry on this sumptuous slice of aural gluttony [ODM’s obsession with baking is becoming a concern] has to be our very special guest star Knut from Football Away. Knut has a stellar anecdote about a football bet he lost and his subsequent journey from London to go and watch the mighty Spurs play Newcastle on the opening day of the season.
And if you like your Anglo Saxon with big beats thrown in, then there’s a tasty treat after the closing credits. My broadband had cut out but my mic had not.
Hotspurs Half Hour – Show 7 Jan Vertonghen Mash Up by hotspurshalfhour
kaboul is a much better defensive right back than walker. doesnt seem too shoddy going forward either. what a way to keep everybody on their toes
naughton can play left or right back
verts can play left back and centre
kaboul can play centre and right back
caulker is going to be an outstanding centre half.
keeps ekotto and walker on their toes. and gallas. and dawson.
perfection at the back with alot options. would love to see kaboul make the right back slot his own.
any thoughts chaps?
Go on to eplindex.co.uk, they’re running stats on defenders walker is 2nd this season in chances created , passes , tackles etc just behind baines, a v good website
Another great podcast, keep ’em coming.
Re: Vertonghen song, wasn’t “Desperado” done by the late great Johnny Cash? Or did he merely cover it? I would rather trust sources on this here blog than Wikipedia.
Desperado was written by Glen Frey and Don Henley of the Eagles the Cash version was a cover.
johnny cash covered it, along with numerous other classics on the “american recordings”
some to check out:
hurt by nine inch nails
rusty cage by soundgarden
personal jesus by depeche
i hung my head by sting
the gambler by kenny rogers
there are only a few chosen to have those kinds of voices. Cave, Waits, Cash, Orbison etc and i dearly love them all
You’ve all covered it now even Chas Dave and Harry the Washboard trio.
Nice one :daumen: time for Spotify research
Meh :-p
Vertonghen is seriously SERIOUSLY world class…I mean on a whole other level to what we have had…truly a pleasure to watch that man play football.
All I wanted to add :o)
Nothing better than an intelligent centre-back who looks as comfortable on the ball as any midfielder. A long way from the Docherty’s, Bunjecvic’s (spelling?) and Naybet’s of old!
First listen. I enjoyed that and will do it more. Thanks.
