Hotspur’s Hunches #13

Good morning and welcome to the only online betting guide brought to you in association with Alcoholics Anonymous and Assisted Deaths (Enfield) Ltd. If this service was a noise, it would be that bugle blast that Ryan play everytime their planes land on time. Irritating and having no guarantee of accuracy about it.

Sunderland meet West Brom. For those of you trying to adjust your Premier League tables do not bother. The Baggies are indeed 3rd. Their away form isn’t good, however Sunderland don’t have any form worth discussing home or away. In the interests of football I’d like to see Steve Clarke put Martin O’Neil to the sword here but the threat of a tedious draw has to be the favourite. Prediction 0-2

Everton vs Norwich could potentially be a beyond dull game. Everton been playing what a 1950’s football commentator would call ‘some very spirited’ football this term but they seem to get bogged down against lesser sides. Hughts will be travelling knowing that a draw wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. I think the King Of The Clipboard may just manage to stifle David Moyes. Prediction: 1-1

Manchester United take on QPR and this has got to be a fascinating fixture from a number of perspectives. If QPR get anything here then Mark Hughes’ dead duck of a managerial career will be well and truly cremated for all time. Arry Redschnapps the world’s leading Crisis Manager is a fox and looks not take charge until full time at the earliest. Prediction: 6-0

Stoke play Fulham and Wigan entertain Reading. If anyone watching either of these games is entertained I’ll be amazed. Predictions: 1-1 across the board.

Aston Villa face Arsenal and I can’t understand why Lambert who has so far sailed the good ship Villa into the relegation won’t play Bent. I’m no Bent fan, but desperate times call for desperate measures and right now the Brummies could do with a shin in or two. So this will either be a scrappy draw or a route, largely dependent upon what frame of mind the Gunners are in when they get off the coach. Prediction 1-4

Swansea vs Liverpool Another opportunity for Brendon Rodgers to drone on and on about respect, tradition, the fans …please shoot me now. I hope Swansea smash them. Prediction 1-1.

Southampton are at home to Newcastle and it’s looking like a long old season for Nigel Adkins. On the up side, the likelihood of him getting the bullet is very small. There’s no money and a team that have sadly been promoted beyond themselves. Pardew will be looking to cash in but Toon’s form is nothing to coo over. It’s a long coach ride back to Geordieland with anything less than 3 points. Prediction a coupon busting 2-1

Chelsea vs Man City and the generously proportioned waiter of Spanish decent will need a win or his own fans will tear him apart. Nice crowd. Family people. If your surname is Manson. The sad thing is I can see Chelsea wining this. The blue racists will as ever be wanting to show the world that the players call the shots and justify the bad mouthing that cost Bob Matthews his job. Prediction 3-1.

Tottingham and West Ham then. The hysteria from those who want AVB binned will reach a pitch that only dogs can hear if we don’t win this. A draw is unacceptable. To hell with having players. ‘Just get on with it and win, Mr Bean!’ God I’m sick of listening to the opinions of stupid people. If we don’t win I may make the next blog about this week’s Strictly Come Dancing. Prediction 2-1.

distinctly unimpressive. villa should have won. the big long drip of water, enveloped in a full length coat, was pacing the touchline, rain pouring down on him, his face a picture of fury and frustration. wonderful sight!

Looks like Moussaka will be involved after coming on in Rome, play Carroll AND Moussaka please. I want to see us playing passes, showing creativity. Play either of those behind J.D if we have to, do we even have enough forward to play 442 by the way? The club refer to ‘Dempseywood’ as a striker/midfielder. Call that a midfielder?? He must be a striker then… so we’re sorted, him and J.D in a two if we go 442 but that may mean not playing Carroll or Moussaka so it may have to be 1 up front then after all?

After reading this blog, it appears that LLL has issues… it’s like he asked avb out on a date and avb turned him down, now he is pissed and doesn’t know how to deal with the rejection. You offer ZERO logical arguments to your points, I’m sure Redknapp would love your input. Do you get your football knowledge from the derpdeedurr that is ADRIAN DURHAM.

I wish clueless windbags complaining about avb and thinking their FIFA 13 or football manager for pc or mac playing time qualifies them to do so, and keep the cry of 442 we need 442…442 this 442 that… Absolutely rubbish, would go support qpr! Or Stoke.

Man City, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Munich, Dortmund, all play 4-2-3-1, do those teams not play attacking football? They play it for good reason, it’s a base package that is all about transition and allows you to be far more flexible than just 442. Even Aston villa, Everton and west brom are starting to play it.

Loosing modric and not having a injury free dembele has hampered us. Bale and Defoe need service from the “Dembele/modric Role” with out it it is difficult.

It’s no coincodence we have won all games he (dembele) started for us. 12 games gone with a piss poor squad compared to Man U, Chelsea, man city and you expect him to pull miracles.

It’s not been a perfect start for AVB but to expect him to walk in and work miracles is as clueless

Seriously, go follow ‘arry to qpr, on your way take Dawson, Huddlestone and freezal with you for ‘arry. Get behind the team at the lane or stay home.

There is no point playing 442 without Adebayor, lets put that one to bed. However, as big a miss Dembele has obviously been ther is no excuse to play like that against Wigan at home or like that in Rome. They are poor team performances, end of. Although a playmaker is obviously important, the team should still be able to restrict the opposition to few chances and keep good possession with one important player out.

I am behind AVB but to expect people to not complain and be all patient when you are just not playing as a cohesive unit is a bit much to ask don’t you think? It’s a team sport, obviously quality players and creativity is important but the 11 that we can put out should be playing far better than they have for most of this season. The manager has to earn his wages and flippin’ sort it out, playmaker or no playmaker.

This isn’t about comparing AVB to Harry or any of that, it’s about the current manager and team, whoever it is getting results and playing to minimum expectations. Quite frankly we are for the most part still waiting for that to happen… Lets hope it does and quick.

The Cups are about the last game but the Premier League is a marathon. I don’t see what the fuss is about. If we win today we are equal with Arse who are the only club beside us who have the resources to keep at it for fourth come May. WBA and Everton will have niggling draws and strange losses that sap their league position. If we win against Westham we are even with Arsenal.

We may even creep up on Chelsea if they dip in the winter deluge of games as they get used to the tortured genius who is their new manager.

So really what is the fuss about? So far so good.

My sentiments entirely Dust….Crikey I’d hate to be the son of some folk on this Blog, I’d be crushed with the weight of constant and consistent disappointment heaped upon me…

Until more quality players get shipped in AvB is going to be putting Lipstick on the face of this pig for quite some time yet, so it really is time to quit whining, buckle and get behind the team, nowt else for it !!

  • LLL says:

    Lots of logic there

  • Hartley says:

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Rubberchops on his new appointment at QPR…. :daumen: I really don’t know how I’m going to get through MOTD tonight without his wonderful words of wisdom…… :winke: :shifty: :freu
