Good evening job seekers.

5-2 eh? That wasn’t very nice, was it? Well, that agreed I had asked the boss yesterday for a 442 away and bless his strawberry blondeness …he obliged. That tactic undoubtedly gave us something of an initiative – because we scored. Also we looked at that stage as if our frailties might stand more than half a chance if we took that approach.

So to the Adebayor thing. I know many of you were not watching on Sky so it may not bore everyone to share that Gary Neville said that he felt that Togo’s finest was ‘too pumped’ prior to the kick off.  The bottom line with that challenge is that had it been executed on Bale or Azza then you me and even the woman next door who only heard it on the radio while she was doing some ironing would have been up in arms.

The bring back Arry mob have of course raised their Troglodyte heads. Idiots crowing, ‘I told you so’ are achieving what exactly? If they could summon up a coherent argument that even vaguely touched upon us throwing away a 2 goal lead with 11 men and a far far superior squad under that schmuck then perhaps they might care to expand.

As I said to a pal earlier, I’m emotional as a fan; yet I now no longer invest too heavily in personnel. So me backing AVB isn’t a Villas-Boas centric campaign, rather wishing the current guy managing Spurs well. If the boss behaves like Arry did when Arry became ‘distracted’ from the pass then I’ll be the first to suggest we bin him.

Where the gaffer did the business for me was in his substitutions. We’ll do some analysis in the am, but whilst I’m fed up, I’m not angry. January will be pivotal. This side urgently needs reinforcements.

Glad to see AVB got it right today, from the formation and the starting 11 to the subs. Feel sorry for Lloris. Not his fault. Extremely disappointed in Ade. Stupid tackle. What was he thinking? Spoiled the game after what was a very bright start.

Agree about Hudd. He looks like he’s running in mudd (sic), and was to blame for the Mertesacker goal, which gave the Goons the belief they could go on and win. Carroll looks a far better bet, at least while Parker and Dembele remain out. Those two can’t get back fast enough for me.

AVB had better right this listing ship against the Spammers, but down to one striker now and I’m afraid more negative football awaits us. If only Levy had done what we all thought was necessary and stumped up for a descent damn striker (in addition to Ade) during the summer this wouldn’t be happening. Did he honestly think we would be fine with just Defoe and Ade, when the top clubs each have four quality front men from which to choose? Silly Daniel.

I’ with most of what you say, my son. How the fuck we’re supposed to play the Spurs way with just two strikers, only one of whom usually appears at any one time defeats me. Jeez!

The team is mentally weak. Crumbles at the merest hint of pressure.

1-0 up and then down to 10 men should not have been the cue for a complete capitulation – which is what it was – those 20 minutes when they scored 3 goals won the game for them. 10 men can defend against 11, which is all that was required of them.

Our defence is too porous and some steps need to be taken. We have mostly been playing quite boring and unadventurous football yet we cannot keep a clean sheet for toffee.

AVB set the team out right today. He should have perhaps reacted to the sending off with some more instruction, perhaps a change of formation. His half-time changes were refreshing, however.

Saying that, his post-match assertion that we were the better team from the first to the last minute makes me seriously worry that he has voices in his head telling him lies and nonsense.

Lastly, Arsenal are very flaky themselves. The first 20 minutes looked like they were liable to let us in over and over. The last 20 minutes after Bale scored and the keeper wasting time at 80 minutes and 4-2 up showed that they also lack the minerals and vitamins to be consistent winners. I would personally put my money on someone other than Spurs or Arsenal finishing in the 4th spot this season.

No but then I could hardly imagine any of them you mention winning a game, poor point, why did you bother?
I’m gutted but a realist we will beat them at WHL when we get the lads back.
This team will improve massively after January if not before I am staying calm and we all should too, give out manager and club a chance to progress, talking about removing AVB now will be a step backwards, we need to allow him to buy a replacement for Modric and choose the best he has from a FIT motivated squad.

    • ELELEL says:

All these assertions that we are going to be so massively improved after January – don’t you think this may be wishful thinking? And as for the injuries, what happens if, I dunno, Dembele comes back but Sandro gets crocked? Injuries are part and parcel of the game and why you have a squad and a manager capable of using it.

      • Harry Hotspur says:

Not assertions. Hopes. By people that wish us to improve. Are you one of those people?

        • ELELEL says:

Of course. Otherwise I would not still be here. Hope must be tempered with realism though. Perhaps my hope is coloured with too much pessimism. But you’re wrong – there is all this ‘we will be better after january / when we get our injuries back’ etc – not hopes, assertions.

        • Mark says:

We all hope Harry, that’s all we have but the Chairman has to live on reality not hope. We are all at the end of the day armchair managers and armchair chairman ourselves all rolled into one. Ours is the toughest job of all!!

  • paddtspurs says:

I’m loving stuff on here….”We’ll beat them when we get back to the lane” “We played well” “there shit”

I wish we’d won 5-2 and been totally shit !!!!

    • ELELEL says:

Yes, while I thought there were some small positives today, I’m not really down with the general tone of happy clappy-ness following a 5-2 massacre at the Emirates.

    • Harry Hotspur says:

If you want to elaborate at any stage sweetheart – please do…
