Manchester United and Arsenal have reportedly made contact with FC Porto to sign Brazilian forward William Gomes, according to Spanish outlet AS.
The 20-year-old moved to Estadio do Dragao from Brazilian side Sao Paulo and has been used as a rotational option this season.
Gomes started only 16 matches across the Liga Portugal and Europa League, yet still managed to contribute significantly in the final third.
He scored 12 goals and registered one assist across those appearances, also helping Porto win the Portuguese league title this term.
AS report that his recent eye-catching performances have attracted significant attention ahead of the summer transfer window.
Newcastle United, AS Roma, and Atletico Madrid have also held talks to enquire about his availability, making this a crowded field of suitors.
However, Porto do not want to let the youngster leave just yet, with his existing contract running until 2029 and a £69m release clause in place.
Gomes is a left-footed right-winger by trait but is also comfortable providing cover on the opposite flank.
He is described as quick, technically sound, capable of dribbling past defenders in tight areas, with an eye for scoring from distance and a strong work rate without possession.
Man United currently have Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo as options on the right flank, raising questions about whether further investment in that position is necessary.
Arsenal, meanwhile, signed Noni Madueke from Chelsea last summer to support Bukayo Saka, meaning they are also well stocked in that area.
Despite both clubs appearing adequately covered, Gomes is viewed as a high-potential talent who could represent strong value if secured for a reasonable fee below his £69m release clause.
