Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly competing for the signature of Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram this summer, according to Italian outlet Tuttojuve.

The 25-year-old has established himself as one of Serie A’s most reliable central midfielders since joining Juventus from Nice in the summer of 2024.

Thuram first made his name at Nice after coming through Monaco’s academy, going on to make 167 appearances across all competitions for the French club.

His performances at Nice attracted widespread interest before Juventus ultimately won the race for his signature two years ago.

Despite a succession of managerial changes at the Turin club, Thuram has remained a consistent and influential presence, amassing 96 appearances and earning four senior caps for France.

Although his contract runs until 2029, uncertainty surrounds his future, with Tuttojuve suggesting he could be among the players to leave Juventus this summer.

Juventus are reportedly open to selling the midfielder for fees in the region of £38-43 million, with the two Premier League clubs and Turkish side Galatasaray all showing interest.

For Manchester United, who have already signed Ederson from Atalanta, Thuram is among a number of midfield targets, alongside Mateus Fernandes and Elliot Anderson, according to the report.

Liverpool’s interest, meanwhile, is reportedly linked to their plans to cash in on Curtis Jones, with Thuram identified as a potential replacement at Anfield.

Thuram’s statistics from last season highlight exactly why both clubs are so keen, with the Frenchman winning 132 duels at an impressive rate of 4.84 duels’ success per game.

His 4.40 recoveries per 90 minutes underline his defensive diligence, while an 86.8 percent pass success rate demonstrates his comfort in possession and ability during build-up play.

With nine goal contributions as a defensive midfielder last season, Thuram offers a genuine attacking threat from deep and represents a significant transfer target for either side.

With the transfer window progressing, it remains to be seen which of the Premier League giants will ultimately secure the Juventus star’s signature this summer.
