Liverpool have moved to the front of the queue to sign Hoffenheim winger Bouzamana Toure, with formal talks already held between the clubs.

According to TEAMtalk, the Reds have taken the most decisive action of any interested party in pursuit of the 20-year-old forward.

Liverpool are keen to revamp their attacking options this summer, with Mohamed Salah set to leave on a free transfer after his contract expires.

Cody Gakpo and Federico Chiesa have also been linked with exits, adding further urgency to the club’s need for reinforcements on the flanks.

Toure caught Liverpool’s attention through an impressive Bundesliga campaign, registering 14 goal contributions across the season for Hoffenheim.

The left-footed winger joined Hoffenheim from Swedish club Hammarby in the January 2025 transfer window and is contracted at the German club until 2029.

Hoffenheim have placed a £43m price tag on the player, and any successful deal would make him the club’s most expensive departure in their history.

Manchester United are also firmly interested in Toure, with reports suggesting they want a new left-sided forward to provide support for Matheus Cunha.

Arsenal, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Brighton and Hove Albion, Brentford, and Bayern Munich have all also been credited with interest in the Ivory Coast international.

Arsenal themselves are said to be considering strengthening the left flank despite having won the Premier League title last term, making the competition for Toure especially fierce.

Toure has also earned his place in the Ivory Coast national team for this summer’s World Cup, underlining his rapid rise as one of Europe’s most exciting young forwards.

RB Leipzig midfielder Yan Diomande has separately been identified as a key Liverpool target, though Leipzig are reluctant to sell with his deal running until 2030 and Paris Saint-Germain also interested.

Liverpool’s decision to hold formal talks with Hoffenheim sets them apart from their rivals and signals a clear intent to get a deal done quickly.

With Hoffenheim under no immediate financial pressure to sell, matching the £43m valuation will likely prove the decisive factor in who ultimately secures the player’s signature.
