Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur’s negotiations to sign Manchester City winger Savinho are progressing well this summer.

The transfer expert posted on X that talks are ongoing and that Spurs believe the Brazilian winger is keen on joining the north London club.

Romano stated: “Negotiations ongoing for Savinho to Tottenham as revealed two weeks ago… and progressing well. #THFC believe Savinho wants the move, talks continue as Man City could open doors to his exit in case of good proposal. Deal on.”

Savinho is valued at £60m but received limited game time at Manchester City throughout the 2025-26 season, making a move away an attractive proposition.

The 22-year-old has recorded seven goals and 16 assists across 84 appearances for City, but was not selected in Carlo Ancelotti’s World Cup squad.

Despite the lack of regular minutes, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has previously spoken highly of the winger’s ability and quality on the pitch.

Guardiola said after a 2-0 victory against Leicester City in the 2024-25 campaign: “I’m very happy with Savinho. An incredible ability and quality that he can prove.”

The City boss added: “I’m really, really pleased for him; for the game, the goal, the assist because playing on the left, you can make that cross… very happy.”

The pursuit of Savinho forms part of a broader summer rebuild at Spurs, following back-to-back 17th-place finishes in the Premier League under the club’s current ownership.

The Lewis family addressed supporters directly, pledging significant investment and structural change across the club in the months ahead.

In their letter, the Lewis family stated: “Our ambition is to recapture the spirit of the club and bring back the excitement, the fearlessness and the bold football we have always felt defined us.”

They added: “This will require investment — in our teams, the academy, our backroom functions and more — and we are fully committed to this. We are not selling the club. We are all in.”

Tottenham are also closing in on defensive additions, with Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson and AFC Bournemouth’s Marco Senesi both set to see their contracts expire this summer.

With consistent game time difficult to come by at City, a move to Spurs could offer Savinho the platform he needs to fulfil his potential at the highest level.
