Arsenal are pushing hard to strengthen their attacking options this summer, with Christos Tzolis emerging as a serious transfer target for the Gunners.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Arsenal are in “regular contact” with the Club Brugge forward’s camp regarding a move to the Emirates Stadium.

The Greece international is keen on making the switch, which is a significant boost for Arsenal as they look to reshape their squad heading into the new season.

Romano also shed light on Arsenal’s wider winger pursuit, confirming that Morgan Rogers is the number one priority, with Bradley Barcola sitting second on the list.

Romano said: “Barcola is also appreciated by Arsenal, but he’s not position number one. Position number one is Morgan Rogers, position number two is Barcola, and there are more options in terms of wingers, so that’s the situation at Arsenal.”

Romano also highlighted the uncertainty surrounding Barcola’s future at Paris Saint-Germain, noting that contract talks between the player and the club have been on standby for some time.

“So Barcola and PSG, at the moment, there is no agreement over new deal, and also it is important to say PSG would ask important money, so who’s going to sign Barcola?” Romano added.

Club Brugge are expected to hold out for a fee in the region of £34 million for Tzolis, though journalist David Ornstein has suggested Arsenal are likely to have a large transfer budget available this summer.

The 24-year-old has been in outstanding form for Club Brugge, accumulating a remarkable 88 goal involvements in 108 appearances since joining the Belgian club.

Last season alone, Tzolis registered 17 goals and 23 assists in 36 Belgian Pro League matches, cementing his reputation as one of European football’s most productive wide forwards.

He also demonstrated his ability at the highest level in the Champions League, contributing two goals and one assist across nine matches last season.

Despite a difficult earlier spell in the Premier League with Norwich City, where he failed to score in 14 matches during the 2021-22 season, Tzolis has clearly developed significantly as a player since then.

Arsenal’s need for winger reinforcements has been made more urgent by the expected departures of Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli from the club this summer.

The Gunners may need to finalise the sale of Trossard to Besiktas before they are in a position to make a formal offer for Tzolis.

Rogers, who is valued at around £130 million, would likely serve as Arsenal’s starting left-winger, with Tzolis potentially providing versatile cover and the ability to rotate with Bukayo Saka on the opposite flank.
