Tottenham Hotspur are pushing to sign Manchester City winger Savinho this summer, according to journalist Nicolo Schira.
Spurs are bracing for a significant squad overhaul after a torrid Premier League season that saw them secure survival only on the final day.
João Palhinha’s goal earned a 1-0 victory over Everton on the last day of the campaign, ultimately keeping Tottenham in the top flight.
Despite finishing as the most underperforming side among the top 17, the north London club are approaching the summer window with clear ambition and concrete targets.
Strengthening the attack is among the club’s top priorities after managing just 48 league goals, the fourth-lowest tally among sides that avoided relegation.
Tottenham’s interest in Savinho is not new, having pushed to sign the Brazilian last summer before the move collapsed when he opted to remain with the reigning champions.
Opportunities proved limited for the winger at City, with Savinho making only 14 starts in all competitions, including just seven in the Premier League, fuelling departure speculation.
Schira now reports that Spurs have been actively “working” to reach an agreement with Manchester City to get the deal over the line this summer.
While City are expected to demand a fee well above Savinho’s £30m Transfermarkt valuation, Tottenham are boosted by the 22-year-old’s openness to joining Roberto De Zerbi’s side.
Schira confirmed that Savinho has made himself available to sign for Spurs, giving the north London club genuine encouragement that a deal can be finalised.
Tottenham’s need in wide areas has become increasingly pressing following several setbacks across the attacking positions in recent months.
Brennan Johnson departed the club in January, while injuries to Wilson Odobert and Mohammed Kudus severely limited options on the right wing throughout the season.
Dejan Kulusevski also endured extended spells on the sidelines, further underlining the urgent need for attacking reinforcements ahead of the new campaign.
Savinho’s pace, directness, and ability to stretch defences consistently would give De Zerbi a dynamic option capable of adding genuine threat in the final third.
