Leeds United are building serious momentum in the summer transfer window, with Daniel Farke being backed heavily by the club’s 49ers ownership group.
The German tactician switched to a back three midway through the campaign, a decision that proved crucial in securing the club’s Premier League survival last season.
Harry Wilson has already signed a four-year deal at Elland Road, joining after rejecting a new contract offer from fellow top-flight side Fulham.
The Welsh international contributed 10 goals and seven assists for the Cottagers last campaign, and will be expected to sharpen Leeds’ attacking output significantly.
Despite completing the Wilson deal, the hierarchy has shown no intention of slowing their recruitment drive ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League season.
Pascal Struijk’s departure to Brighton highlighted an urgent need for defensive reinforcements, and Sassuolo centre-back Tarik Muharemovic has emerged as the solution.
Leeds have agreed a £34m deal with the Serie A club for the Bosnian international, who has already travelled to Yorkshire to undergo his medical ahead of signing a contract.
Muharemovic made a staggering 7.1 clearances per 90 during the last campaign, a figure no Leeds defender came close to matching, with the best in Farke’s squad managing just 5.6.
The 23-year-old also won 64% of his aerial battles in Italy’s top division, again surpassing every defender currently on the books at Elland Road.
His all-round defensive quality makes him a top-class addition for Farke’s side, one who figures to develop further as he adapts to Premier League demands.
With Muharemovic now set to join and Wilson already through the door, Leeds have turned their attention to Southampton midfielder Shea Charles.
TEAMtalk have reported that talks have been held over the last couple of days to try and reach an agreement for the midfielder, who is valued at around the £25m mark.
Charles has drawn comparisons to Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham, a likeness rooted in the Southampton man’s tireless box-to-box contributions.
His tally of 6.4 ground duels won per 90 and 1.3 interceptions per 90 both rank him in the top 20% of midfielders across Europe for the 2025/26 season.
Those figures reflect the same relentless off-the-ball work that Bellingham has made his trademark during his time in Spain.
Charles also caught the eye in possession during his most recent campaign in the Championship, completing more dribbles than 90% of players in England’s second tier.
He completed 86% of his attempted passes and created 1.2 chances per 90, demonstrating genuine quality as a ball-progressor in central midfield.
His six goals from midfield last term underline his ability to contribute at the sharp end of the pitch, adding another dimension to his already impressive profile.
At £25m, securing a player of Charles’ quality would represent outstanding value for a Leeds side looking to establish themselves as a Premier League force.
Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea are also open to selling goalkeeper James Trafford this window, with Leeds reportedly reaching out again, though the asking price sits at £40m.
