“You’ve got to go there and play sensibly against the better teams, you’ve got to be difficult to beat away from home. Let’s not kid ourselves. If we come back with a point we would all be delighted.”
“So you’ve got to go out there and hit them on the break. We’d like to win but we’re not going to go out and start swarming all over them – they are a top team, so you have to be aware of that.”
Stirring stuff. Arry’s pre match words there evoke such strong emotions. Forget ‘Cry havoc!’, never mind Braveheart and see you later alligator to ‘Upon my command, unleash hell!’ No, what we have here has just raised the bar in motivational speeches.
Hairs tingling on the of your neck? Nope, mine neither. He’s about as fired up as Mavis Riley dithering over whether to have a custard cream or a chocolate digestive.
Given the manner in which Tottenham play their best football, it’s seem downright weird for Arry to suddenly come it all master tactician on us. There will be quite enough over-thinking taking place courtesy of the fat Spanish waiter. Tottenham need to get out there and do precisely the opposite of his pearls of wisdom above.
A holding game is something Spurs are not entirely at one with to put it mildly and this strategy also requires a damn tight back four. Hardly our calling card.
Anytime goalscorer punt would have to be the boy Bale @9/2.
BIOYC!
I think we can do em.

Playing inter away is not a million miles from playing Yanited, Chavski or Le Arse.
I think he know s hwo to play and I think our players will not need motivating. Lets hope they rise to the occassion.
The world is watching, this is what we’ve been waiting for. If we park thye bus I’ll be extremly surprised.
Inter will have done their homework. They’ll know all about our strengths and weaknesses.
Shame Van Der God isn’t playing but I think we have more than enough to sneak a point.
Harry is a practical thinker and he says what he thinks depending on who’s asking in my opinion. He has given a pretty level headed response there and he will be thinking about what Rafa makes of those comments.
Come match day, the atmosphere of the San Siro, the anticipation in the dressing room before the game – the biggest stage…it will become a WAR. A battle of not only skill but tactical awareness and passion.
They will come out guns blazing.
The thought of seeing Bale pitted against agruably the best right back in the world (Maicon) fills me with excitement.
BAE launching heat seekers through, Bale latching on adding thrust and direction whipping in live fire to the danger area. Huddlestone leaving shrapnel of flesh with every thunderous shot. Cutting through the heart of our opponents with every through ball. Modric the spy unlatching the defence with trickery and deception.
Our defence throwing eveything at it, putting their body’s on the line.
I see it all….
Thats what I’m talking about.
Spurlative I thank you.
What was wrong with the way we went about attacking against Bremen? We had them on the back foot. More of the same, I say.
I agree with you about the defence. Talk about putting bodies on the line, it’s more than that. It’s about really marking, man for man, picking people up at the half way line and sticking with them, on the ball side, every ruddy second. Every single one of them, ‘specially Eto’o.
IMHO.
My team
Gomes
Hutton, Basser, Gallarse, A&E
Lennon, Modric, Thudd, Jenas, Baler
Pav
Arrys team
Gomes
Hutton, Basser, Gallarse, Baler
Lennon, Wilson, Thudd, Jenas, Modric
Crouch
4-5-1 on both
No prediction as I,m always wrong….come to think of it I’ve never got a team selection right either :dizzy2:
At least you put yourself out there with the line-ups. I’ve got it into my head that if I list who I reckon we’ll field, then we won’t pick up all 3 points.
another dilemma is
1. Pub and potential for locals to ridicule us for thinking we are a CL side
OR
2. In HD at home on my own with Spurs scarf tied round the dogs necks
This match is going to be the business. Nothing is going to be the same as being at the San Siro. Whats the nearest thing in terms of atmosphere and viewability?
Pub. Stand proud.
(you can always run home at half time if it gets too uncomfortable at the bar).
and my only gooner mate is away on business so public house for me
