Defoe’s Price Tag Revealed

Image for Defoe’s Price Tag Revealed

After making a speculative enquiry some while back in relation to Azza Blud’s gaf, I appear now to be on a marketing list aimed at those goodly folk who have squillions to drop on their ‘primary address’. And here’s wot I was mailed.

So check out 10 Station Road, Cuffley, Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, EN6 4HT pop pickers… as you can see the kitchen is fully downstairs and the settee is telly facing. All tables on the premises have tables that can ‘tuck under’ and the extensive lawns benefit from an abundance of grassy substances.

To put the record straight from the previous post Azza Blud arrived in June 2005, the month Arnesan left, so I don’t think Commolli can take any credit for him.

      Details details…….

Five years, about time he improved then!!

And as I just said on the last blog, can Arnesen really take credit for signing Azza? Because he’d already been suspended from his position prior to Azza joining!

Perhaps it was his way of saying thanks… “I’ll leave you with this rough diamond, it needs polishing but you’ll grow to love him – you can have his name if you let me go to Chelsea?” :ermm:

Or perhaps he gets no credit at all. :daumen:

      The club signed Aaron Lennon.

My point is that Commolli did not sign Lennon not that Arnesen did. Though one imagines he would have made some contribution along the way.

Trembly believes Arnesen signed Azza. Well, that’s what he said on the other page. And as you will see in the comment posted below… I agree Comolli gets no credit. :cop:

Even straighter, Comolli joined us in September 2005, so unless he phoned us up when we suspended Arnesen and said “Here, buy this lad he’ll only cost a million – if you like him you’ll give me the DoF job?” :ermm:

      Neither of them signed Azza!

How long do deals usually take (not bearing in mind VdV’s 4 hours + mail server crash time)?

Whether or not he oversaw the final contract signing ceremony, in all likelihood, as the then DoF at Spurs responsible for player recruitment, Frankie “ooh-lovely-yacht-you’ve-got-here-mr-abramovich-may-I-call-you-roman” Arnesen as was his warrant, is the man who will have instigated the final process of signing young Azza. The fact that it co-incided with a jaunt on a luxury boat, and subsequent suspension of his duties would surely not mean that the club would stop something that was already lined up to complete – especially since his work up to then was considered well by the club.

Comolli is a more than decent scout. However he is a terrible PR man. And a man not pleased enough with his severance package. The way he is charging these lads as ‘his’, when they weren’t proclaimed as ‘his’ under the Ramos tenure, says a lot about the man.

Sometimes empowering employees is a good thing – at other times, it’s just a headache and Levy did the right thing in the end.
