Bale Does It 21 Times In 2 Minutes

This whole Bale love in has been bordering on that Python sketch. He innocently leaves some Kenesio tape on the changing room floor one minute and 30 seconds later someone’s clutching ‘a sign’.

Bale’s extraordinary arrival could be just what the doctor ordered.

I don’t mean in respect of what he achieves on the pitch and all that mallarky, rather the way Spurs are perceived. If this lad can hold his resolve, if Levy & Co can ensure they do their bit and not act with so much dispassion that it allows the boys’ head to be turned, then this could be a pivotal moment for the Tottinghams.

For some time it has grated me that we have essentially been a selling club. Yeah, yeah I know there is a list of players we have managed to hang on to, but please – none of them have quite caught the eye of others like those who did abandon us.

No matter how high the regard we hold Azza Blud or anyone else for that matter, they have not had a queue around the block of suitors waving carrier bags of used notes.

But Bale is doing a bloody good impression of, ‘the real deal’ so this is our chance to send out a message that the days of  Carrick, Berbatoss and PSB are behind us.

The prattle will commence in earnest this afternoon. Honest. And on a not entirely unrelated housekeeping matter can I apologize to anyone who emailed me on my new address or indeed the old one of late. Both appear to be made of cheese. Normal service will be resumed and I wasn’t being rude.

Oh yes, decent response to the comp yesterday – looks like most of you got it wrong. Apart from Toddspurs.

If we could have swapped Davies for Crouch before kick-off we probably would have won

    • onedavemackay says:

They certainly wouldn’t have scored 4 goals

    • Trembly says:

I always said he would’ve been one of my signings for Spurs. As someone else said, God knows how he’s not been signed by a top team.

We need players that can keep posession. the nu,ber of times we lost the ball today was shocking.

      • jfdit says:

we’ve debated his merits before trembly, way back when we were 2 from 8 fodder.

Very good team player and great leadership qualities – very underated, I remember the goal he scored for chesterfield in the fa cup – top drawer.

still numb from todays non performance

I think beero’clock will be striking earlier today

Hi jfdit, I remember all too well. It’s scary how we can still look down the ‘mid and lower league’ quality teams, and see individuals who would be better than the equivalent in our position. cr’Ouch, despite his usefulness on occassion and goals scored/set up – was never my choice. I was partly wrong about him as I thought that he would be utter shite for us. He hasn’t been useless for us, ut;s just that in the main, our primary striker should not be him, at all, ever. I appreciate his contribution, but roll on Januray when we look forward to someone to save our League campaign.

I was crying out for Krankie to play. If Arry really is choosing people on merit, all I can think of is that Pav really isn’t impressing in training. I really can’t wait for JD to get back, and see us play it on the floor again.

  • DAVID says:

Typical half arsed effort from us today.
Most of us have supported this lot long enough to expect it, yet it still comes as a surprise.
They have the ability but not the mental strength and their attitude stinks.
Reminds me of when we beat Chelsea in CC final. Following week got beat 4-1 by Birmingham and did not break sweat.

    • Trembly says:

Good summary. It’s the entire lot of them that’s at fault. Manager to player.

It’s not just Arry’s fault because he picke the team. It’s not the fault of our baby blue or yellow (which we don’t have this season) 2nd/3rd kits.

It’s the attitude. We did not have any proper experienced winners out there today. i.e. VdV wasn’t playing.

It seemed to me that we were rudderless on the pitch – no one stepped up to take control. This was a very important game and we felched it good and proper.

It has always been the same, this supporting Spurs lark. Sublime and ridiculous are never very far away from each other, usually only a few days. It is obvious but we miss our best players… especially KING against Davies, Van der Vaart, Defoe, Lennon, Dawson . Also some of our squaddies are not as good as we or they think they are. We also miss Huddlestone so much when he does not start!

Having said that Bolton is never a happy hunting ground for us and Davies ALWAYS scores against us.

We really need to get our mojo back and fast if we are to challenge for 4th. All that said nobody bar Cheatski is exactly pulling up any trees.

Have to be honest that I expected a draw from Bolton away, but we got exactly what we deserved today …… NOWT!

Must win the next 2 games against relatively easy opposition. But then being Spurs it is always the relatively easy that becomes difficult.

With Spurs it will never be dull. If you want dull do not follow Spurs, watch Stoke or I was going to say Bolton but perhaps not after today

  • Scottishmancyid says:

Have just got back from watching that shower of sh*t at Bolton. From the high of Tuesday evening this low is far too much to take. I will no longer support Spurs as long as Peter Crouch is employed by the club. His performance was disgusting – highlighted by heading the ball off the field whilst we trailed. He should be nowhere near the first team of a Premiership club – today was the final straw and I will not plough money or emotion into a club where the likes of him are considered the best we can do!

    • BakerBaler says:

What’s more disgusting than LSOP’s performance is your remark that you’ll stop going. I remember spending £100 on an away trip to see Doherty play up front on his own. You dont like it but as a supporter from time to time you have to tolerate bad players. I dont rate Crouch either but that’s no reason to withdraw your support.

Hopefully you’ve made a silly remark in the heat of the disappointment we are all feeling, otherwise frankly you’ve embarassed yourself.

      • MysteriousStranger says:

Perhaps someone could start a “Crouch OUT!” petition? :freu :winke:

      • Trembly says:

You saw Pele play? A ton is small change for that kind of quality.

What? Oh. the Ginger Pele was it? In that case my heart really does bleed for you. Was he better than Peter today? :shocked2:
