Mackem’s under the lights then. Hubba hubba.

With the talismanic shinner-iner that is Barren Dent absent and mediocre league form, this is a nailed on opportunity for the Tottinghams to truly enrage their support with a performance to make the end of the pier show at t’Reebok look like an investor show reel.

All mock belligerence to one side, this is a game that Sunderland cannot be looking forward to and one that Spurs really ought to go to town in.

The danger areas are potential outbreaks of individual acts of madness (Hello A&E :winke: ) and a destitute array of strikers. Is it true that Begbie has scored 2 more league goals than Peter Crouch this season?

Super Romancrazypavin’s goal at Bolton was extraordinarily good. Lost in the mists of gloom perhaps, but it was an absolute belter all the same.

Value at the bookies is thin on the ground. So have a tickle at 1-0 half time, 3-1 full time and you ought to be offered 66/1 or better.

Anyone who thinks i dont support harry is very wrong. DIdnt i suggest that its reasonabnle to suggest that like players, managers can also have a bad run of form?
Fortunately you can drop your out of form players or play them till they come good…But you cant drop your manager..so he has to come good eventually.
Sorry if that was not clear before.
Even referees are out form and they too should be dropped every once in while if at all possible.

So team news is out then?

In the forces, hierarchy is important. You have to believe in your superior officer and you have to follow commands to the letter.

When players ignore this, then it’s a free for all, and theres no unison or directed focus and when blame starts getting chucked around.

He’s done alright til now, and I see no reason why I should now demand that he justify everything. As Leckie said above, he’s still got credits in my book.

that is something you have to praise harry for is that he rewards players who do well and is not afraid to drop anyone.
I thought bentley would be a straight swap for lennon and after his warm up against bolton, im sure he will want to perform well tonight.
The fact that bentley is playing and that harry dropped crouch at the same time is awesome(bentley can cross the ball quite well normally)
With vdv playing along with Bale we always look a very strong team, especially with Pav pracariously hovering around on the pitch before he pulls off a belter. That guy is a goal machine waiting to happen.
very happy with the team selection. harry could have easily gone for the crouch vdv combo deal…

I swear he reads this blog. maybe he runs it???

If Sunderland are are at their game we know what to expect.
4-5-1 with a packed midfield and lots of closing down the player on the ball.
They will hope to frustrate our midfield by keeping it tight there and closing down all angles for forward passes then hit us on the counter.
An early goal would change it of course. But it could be a frustrating night if we dont get an early breakthrough.
Most important is that everyone is on their top game tonight. Whatever happens a Steve Bruce team will usually give you a game. If we are at 90% they could punish us.

Come on Pav, run around a bit… Or alternatively, just stand there and belt one in like at the weekend? I’ve just confused myself… The fate of being a Spurs fan… Aaaargh.
