Proper Champions League and no mistake this. Inter Milan turning up with a ball under their arm, boots on and everything.

More good news than the Good News Bible. Huddlestone and VdV are back from the brink and ready to rock. It is difficult to believe that minus the Dutchman we’d be half as confident. The flashes of wonder we got from him and that man Modders at Old Trafford were a pleasure to watch.

Let’s have a butchers at the betting.

Thrill seekers might enjoy Half Time Inter Full Time Tottenham @25/1. Bale, Bale, Bale Anytime Goalscorer is a tempting enough 7/2 and Modders 4/1. Long shot of long shots to pay for your swanky new T Shirt and allow you to order so much takeaway pizza they’ll think you’re a hoax call … 1-1 at Half Time and Spurs to win 3-1 is 100/1.

Heart says classic european night at the lane with a narrow win.

Head says draw with another sloppy start and spurs coming back – just.

I haven’t had my say on the Nani goal – I don’t want to debate it – just point out a positive :

The goal stands – the rules of the game were followed. The decision of the ref was poor and has become the focus of the goal. It shouldn’t be.
There will be plenty more such “mistakes” so lets move on. Clattenberk is not a lone moron in a sea of ineptitude. Webb anyone ?

THE POINT OF THIS INCIDENT IS THIS :- Nani cheated and got away with it. We all saw it – every supporter of every club.

Remember the Paulo DiCanio incident ? In 2001, in a match against Everton, in a noteworthy display of sportsmanship, Di Canio shunned a goal scoring opportunity and caught the ball from a cross instead as the Everton goalkeeper Paul Gerrard was lying injured on the ground after he twisted his knee attempting a clearance on the edge of the box. FIFA described the act as “a special act of good sportsmanship. Supporters of clubs up and down the land applauded him for being a gentleman and playing within the spirit of the game.

No such merits for Nani – and Big Red Nose takes his part of the blame for fostering such an attitude at his club.
United are cheats. They have to resort to cheating to win the league. All Nani has done is to remind supporters of every club that United remain the most distasteful club in the history of the EPL.

Spurs may not win titles as often as Manure but we are all now fondly remembering the style and grace in which we won our titles – I am proud to be a spurs fan.

Let’s hope De Jong gets him ;)
