This was bizarrely revealed on Talksport yesterday afternoon and so my binge cleaning of the kitchen wasn’t all about the one euro and seven pence behind the fridge.
Modders was being scouted, amongst others by a chap by the name of Les Padfield. Les is a professional football scout and he was good stuff, chatting away about his life in football. He was plugging his book – Scouting For Moyes – when he made reference to the Modders snub.
It apparently came from Bolton after the Croatian had played against England. Les said, ‘I told them he had bossed it out there.’ The response was, ‘He’s not big enough.’

What a joke FIFA has become, hot on the heels of the FA and probably most other nation’s domestic football authorities, a Chimp’s Tea Party. But who is suprised?
It’s been an open secret for generations that (in particular) the IOC and FIFA are so bent that not even Beckham could bend it far enough! The IOC went through its version of hand-wringing and tears, like a US Southern baptist minister caught with his cock up an young boy’s bum. But so far FIFA have been able to side-step any accountability for their Cosa Nostra like activities.
Qatar is absurd, unless the tournament is held in January; the only time of year that temperatures are not up there with the dark side of the sun. Its about the size of Bexleyheath, runs under Sharia law and endorses a form of slavery/indenture of migrant workers. The Capital is called Doha (emphasis of the Doe)…..Oh and they have a very low level of tolerance to alcohol.
However, Russia probably have a reasonable claim, they are the largest country in the world and have a history of competing in World Cups. They are emerging onto the World Stage in their new format and hey if the Yanks can get it by taking a week off from baseball, why not the Russians. Of course people will say “but they’re bent,they have no free press” HELLLLOOOO!!!!!
Someone once said the Russians were better off than those in the west in that they knew they were lied to and oppressed!
No, England had no chance, the resignation debacle earlier in the year, the BBC, the squabbling with the Russians all killed off England’s chances……and of course the extent of the cash available through back channels: a Russian speciality, tho’ I don’t blame them, they’re just playing the game by the rules set.
But FIFA and Blatter and the whole crew of them should be investigated and outed as the cowboys they are and probabaly would be if they were not protected so well by Swiss banking laws. I have to say maybe Ken Bates has stumbled onto the answer.
