Here they is then…

I’m sure that highly esteemed contributor Fatfish won’t object to me sharing that which he very kindly shared on the previous blog.

“Just got back to hotel after game & beer today (more beer due shortly). Not read anyone else’s thoughts yet, but here are mine.

Deserved a point, but that’s all. Hutton woeful for the goal.

Daws & Gallas were rocks. Bassoon, OK considering not used to LB.

Lennon gave the ball away far too much & will never play a decent final ball. How can a premiership player get away with.  If he can’t do it now, never will.

Jenas. End of, I’ve lost patience with him now. How are we going to find out if Sandro is up to it if he doesn’t play?

Pienaar, did OK but I don’t he was used to the amount of movement that we play with, but will be fine. VdV. OK but frustrated & frustrating. Cut out the diving.

JD, offered himself but never really given too many chances except for the poor miss just before HT.

I’ve left Modders till last on purpose. If this guy doesn’t win player of the season, there is no justice. I don’t just mean for us, I mean PFA, football writers, Ballon D’or …next Pope?

The man is just unbelievable. There was one point in 1st half when he rode about 5 tackles retained possession & played a stunning ball to Pienaar. Even the Geordie bar stewards stood & applauded.

One other point. The Yid army totally out sung the Geordie boys. I was in amongst the Newcastle fans & the support from our fans was brilliant.”

Reports from the front-line like this are invaluable. :daumen:

So Spurs need a striker who is used to playing up front on his own, Premier League scoring pedigree, Bent sounds like the man for the job. If only we had him on our books…

bent cant cut it in a team where he isnt the sole focus, he failed at spurs, hasnt performed well for england and will remain the target of teams in the lower to mid range of the table. Another problem is that when at spurs other players tended to only pass to him when no one else was free, a bad sign, and a worse one if you buy into this american statistics guy we had a while back, passes from team mates recieved was the make or break stat for transfers, shows if they play well with others or if they’re ego inflated twitter addicted petulant munts (the twitter bit may only apply to bent)

Our strikers are complete rubbish, I’ll happily drive them to any interested club. defoe must be one of the most overrated players ever, for a player who is so selfish in front of the goal, and offers nothing in regard to defending etc. his strike rate is nowhere near good enough.

The following is the number of games per goal for our strikers:
Keane 1 goal every 2.49 games, Defoe 1 goal every 2.51 games, pav 1 goal every 2.55, and crouchy 1 in every 3.8 games.

and it’s not like any of our strikers can complain about the number of chances created playing for spurs.

I had highlights in the eighties…….looked like a pigeon had shat on my head ! Oh and for my pennies worth I though azza looked dangerous the whole game and should have been given more of the ball.does anyone believe wot pav has supposedly said bout Carroll & adebayor coming?

  • ed says:

Adebayor in terms of playing attributes is almost the perfect fit for us, goalscorer, holds the ball up, shoots, heads. I guess he is probably available? Would I be happy to see him play for us? I’ve got to say I had no problems with gallas coming, and I’d have no problem with Adebayor coming, if he scored us the goals to take us into the top 4 then I’m sure most would be happy.

This point was the down payment for Carroll and part of the deal for Carroll. Why would Harry play Jenas who was always going to get booed every touch and be subbed also 4411 doesn’t work and our game which got us in fourth is 442. Once again Davspurs predicted Newcastle like Birmingham West Brom and Everton did grew wings after they went down the tunnel a premiership tired team and came out firing even the centre back who had not scored for 12 months looked energised just like the returning Duracell Bunnies Liverpool.
