Benny is my favourite player. Seriously, he is! Yes, I’m the guy in the park lane who always sings his praises and tries to get a ‘Yido’ chant going for him. The other week he looked genuinely chuffed when a mild yido chant started after he expertly usherded a ball out of play. The look was almost one of ‘Really? Do you really like me? Wow, this is amazing. I think I lIike this club even more now.’ Would love to see what a Benny song would result in. He has been our most consistent performer for the last three seasons, easily. Those who disagree are Hanson lovers…….
Benny is a nutter. At least once a match he will do something totally insane. Heart in mouth stuff. But it rarely costs us so I forgive him. I mostly love his casual play. It’s like he isn’t invested in the outcome, so he just plays without getting too excited.
I rate him too. I would suggest that every team in the land would have him in their starting libe up with one exception; Chelsea
