Mmmn. Maybe this is completely fabricated but it sounds too damn true to me … from Dan Nolan on Spurs Community…

‘Been in Vegas on a mates stag do this week and happened to meet Jermain Defoe, Tom Huddlestone and Ian Wright.

Talked in length with JD on the roulette table and he is actively looking to leave and even mentioned joining Arsenal. Says hes in his peak age wise and needs to be playing, said he never got fully fit because HR didn’t pick him even if he scored! No reserves meant he got no games to pick up sharpness after injury. Very annoyed about it too.

HR doesn’t want him to leave but wont guarantee him football. His agent was also with him and said hes investigating interest and we should find out in the next 2 weeks when hes back from holiday.

Spurs also looking to do business early as they are aware what happened in the last window annoyed the fans.

My sincerest apologies to Jermain Defoe apologists, but this delusional idiot’s goal tally speaks for itself.

The sooner Spurs dump fragile,  self absorbed cretins like this – the better.

I back Pav. SUPER PAV. Agree on Crouch. I believe in JD still but Suarez is a diving little shitehawk. Got a feeling he’ll get found out next season. May pull something outta his anus every other month, but they can ‘av ‘im

Heres summit for y’all to wake up too. Just watched a bit of Semi recent Spurs.. Jol era, pleat.. bits and bobs. Pissed me of even more about the gall of Redknapp saying we’ve never had it so good. Arrogant dimlo. He thinks he’s fucking invented the Tottenham way. Fed up now. Bring in Hughton.

Jermain Defoe took part in 22 league games last season, which sounds worse than what it is, considering of course he was injured for 10 games in a row, suspended for 3 games, so that only leaves 3 games that, off the top of my head, aren’t accounted for.

He’s not a ‘natural’ goalscorer like everybody on Match of the Day seem to think, he’s a 17 year old with forehead wrinkles, has no clue about playing on the shoulder of a defence, which, as he’s become slower over the years, is a very crucial skill to learn. He’s a poor player who talks about leaving before the bench under his arse has become warm. A loser with a loser’s mentality, and until we get a new striker in, someone who has an actual all round game, I fear that some people will never see how utterly flawed he is.

unfortunatly I think he has reached his best and his brain wont help him progress any further. How else do you explain a professional at his level consistently being given offside.you would think he and his coaches would fix that. what a waste of attacking momentum and awarding the oppo the ball back after the rest of the teams hard work to get it to him.Get in a clever intelligent striker that thinks and dosnt just whack it on the off chance.Even though they look good when they go in.

You get the feeling with Defoe that as long as he scores in a game, he’ll be happy, regardless of the outcome.

We need to root out the losers like him and bring in more players who hate to lose. But I fear this ‘it just wasn’t to be’ bullshit you hear players like Crouch (another loser) come out with, has a lot to do with the manager (yet another loser).

anyone know anything about subbuteo? trying to get hold of a set – not easy in australia – love to get one team in spurs colours – dunno the other one – barcelona maybe – so we can beat them!

I dont want to slag off Defoe – if he ends up in a Spurs shirt next season, I’d rather support him and feel positive when he walks out onto the pitch.

What I will say is that his career average is roughly one goal per three games – that doesnt make him awful but doesnt compare too well with some of the players at our top four rivals (if thats what we aspire to).

I dont know the career averages for Van Persie, Torres, Suarez, Hernandez, Tevez etc but I suspect they are significantly higher.

Players like Rooney, Berbatov and Drogba may or may not be more prolific (cant be arsed to check) but I dont have the slightest doubt that they have many more assists and contribute in other areas (ball winning, retention, dead ball skills etc).

Defoe cant help not being one of the best strikers in the league but it is amusing that he cant see that!

Theres a place for him in the squad but I think if he wants to be the main man, he’ll have to move on – not sure he’s a Wenger player though!
