Wotcha.

Call me charm incarnate, but the news that Leandro Dimebar has signed for Internacional is good news. Whilst up to our knees (hello Jermain) in not very good strikers I simply could not see this guy as a reason to hold a street party.

SSN are saying we’ve made more than bid. To the best of my knowledge we made two and we didn’t have any competition from a third party. Internacional actually own 70% of the ‘hit man’ who’s YouTubage made him look like his gout was worse than Begbie’s.

Flog modric to city for 40m as they are the only club stupid enough to pay that. Not for one second am I suggesting modric is poor, but on paper Craig gardner is better, for a playmaker he should be aiming for something like 13 assists and 10 goals, he didn’t even hit half that. Bring in Marin.

Would any other top-4 club or club with top-4 amibitions sell to ‘a competitor’? No. So why should we? Loan then sell to a European CL team.

IF Chelsea, purchase price will be based on ‘actual value’ + compensation, for buying him out of the remainder of his contract + commercial risk, in THFC not being able to replace him, etc.

      • Alspur says:

Sorry – playing devil’s advocate, but: Torres? Clichy? Nasri?

        • Chirpy says:

Torres, true, but hadn’t Clichy’s contract all but expired anyway. Nasri, well we’ll have to see. I guess the point is it’s the sign (or cause) of a team on the slide.

  • Spurfect says:

I think this talking of £35M is bulls&*t. Maybe thats near a accurate real value but this isnt a wanted sale and a player who we’ve stated many many times is irreplaceable. Its ENFORCED for one. Two the actual cost to us is most than merely his selling value. It means us losing players like Bale if we dont have money to reinvest in the same level players and if we dont make Champions league then that another £30-£40M. On top of the fact he has % YEARS left then if they want him the have to pay an overinflated price to temp AND compensate us, so were’re looking at £50m MINIMUM.

    • Alspur says:

Come on, mate – let’s get real… we bought him for 16m and his market value is what someone would pay for him: prob 30-35m tops…

      • Spurfect says:

Youre telling me Andy Carrol is a £35M player? Youre telling me that Torres is worth £50M when hes been dog sh*te for near on 3 years.
16.5M is what we paid for him when he was undeveloped. When he was playing in the Croatian league. When he was someone that no one else wanted to take a punt on.
Jordan Henderson has just moved 20M. Nasri is being quoted at £25 on his LAST year of his contract. Yes mate, I do think £50M, as I said TRUE value wouldnt be this but if someone wants to take him from us THAT badly, then they have to pay the premium. If they called £22M an insult and laughable you ACTUALLY think that sucking another 8-13M on top makes it an attractive offer? Get real…

        • Alspur says:

Strikers always attract a significant premium… I know this is a distressing prospect, but I genuinely can’t see us getting anywhere near 50m for him…

If you’re in the “ship him out, now, and spend the money on rebuilding quick” crew, then 35m cash, or 25m plus a good player sounds realistic…

Alternatively, he rots in the stands and we flog him for 25-30m in January…

        • gilbo says:

I’d say £38m to a club outside england, or £50m (but not at all to the chavs)

    • Spurfect says:

IF a rival wants them then they pay over the odds simple as. £30-£35 we’ve been mugged off, he’s tied in for 5 YEARS. They want him more than we want to keep him then they pay the price. We should only accept that kind of offer from a team abroad. We wouldnt get a player as good as Modric for 30-35M.

If another monkey on a spurs webshite says they would be happy to take Bothroyd I will shit my pants. How on f*arking earth can any serious spurs fan say they would take Bothroyd!?! There is only one club going backwards right now and that is the Ar$e. But with Liverpool et al strengthening and even sunderland buying up Man u’s ressies we can do with no less than a proper striker, or two and a midfielder to replace look-its Moody-pants-rich. Eto’o or Aguero for me or both. Diego, Marin or even Ever Banega. Two of which could do the croats thing. I don’t care one bit if Spurs don’t make the news until deadline day, as long as all 5 of those chaps are in our squad for the next match and Cheatski or Madrid have stumped up £40m for the little bollox.

    • yiddo4ever says:

i think you miss our point about Boothroyd my friend….we are trying to highlight our frustration at lack of transfer activity regarding the striker situation whilst also making the point that no matter how shit Boothryd may be it cant be any worse then a Defoe of Keane. At least Boothryd woudl have something to prove in the premiership rather then strut around the pitch like a Defoe who thinks he has arrived when clearly he is fuckin shit. And offside.

      • JimboSpurs says:

Tony the pony would have something to prove too, but the problem is unlike Defoe or keane him and Bothroyd WOULD prove it. They are shite and thats why they were playing in the championship until their 29th birfdee. In all honesty, if you think someone putting in a bit of effort is the next step for spurs, we are fast on the way to rock bottom. 2 points from 8 games might look well. Lets get Scott Dann at the back, super parker in the middle, get old routledge back on the wing, andy booth as striker coach and maybe coax clive wilson out retirement to have a go at knocking those mistakes out of a&e with some healthy competition. We at worst need to look upwards even if we never get there. Looking to our right and slightly down for ‘dream transfer targets’ is not, I repeat, NOT the way forward.

        • yiddo4ever says:

yes but the point i was making is we are not actually serious about wanting Boothryd to sign…we just using him as an example to highlight our frustrations. I would also cum in my pants if we signed the likes of Aguero of Eto but seriously? We cant even stop Modric from wanting out from a wages and trophies perspective so what chance do we have of signing the finest strikers money can buy? Im sure the likes of Chelsea, City, Arsenal, Utd, Barcelona, madrid would have somethign to say about that if these players were available! I do agree that we need to aim high though….we dont need the likes of Parker and Harrys old west ham mates turning up and taking us backwards.
