Good morning.

Well I hope Luka is savoring the moment. Captain of a cup winning Spurs side. The world at his feet and most Spurs fans at his little Croat throat if it weren’t for a wall of stewards and body guards.

The quality of Van der Vaart’s first goal and the cross by the boy Bale for the Defoe’s were outstanding.

Speculation about potential signings has predictably deteriorated into a cryptic meltdown on message boards, but wading through the Italian press it really does seem that our interest is little more than a bargaining device in relation to Giuseppe Rossi. Perhaps the €30M wouldn’t be an issue but Juve appear to in talks so ‘advanced’ with Villa Real I’m struggling to see why were are even discussing him.

Pipe dream doesn’t come into it. If Tottingham are really waiting in the wings to pounce then Levy & Co must have misread the figures involved for wages etc as being in Lire.

Kickoff reports that Tottenham midfielder Rafael van der Vaart believes that teammate Steven Pienaar will be a key figure for Spurs next season.

Pienaar made his first appearance on Spurs’ pre-season in yesterday’s 3-0 win over Orlando Pirates in the Vodacom Challenge and played 45 minutes. Pienaar’s first season in North London following his move from Everton was disrupted by injury, but Van der Vaart still believes that the South African playmaker is destined for big things in a Spurs shirt.

The Dutch forward said: ‘He is a great player and a great personality. I played with him a few years ago at Ajax. I know he’s from South Africa, but sometimes I feel he’s Dutch. We can all see his quality and I’m sure in his second year at Spurs, he will play a lot of games and be very, very important to us.

    Fackinel.

I must have been in a minority being pleased we signed him, a midfielder who actually scores goals. But whenever I saw him play he was a bit gash.

Had a Rossi on Sarfend seafront the other day and also saw Roger Daltrey performing there 2 weeks ago.
He didn’t sing substitute unfortunately, but did sing a tribute to Hudd, referring to him as that deaf, dumb and blind kid. A bit harsh!

    So,

Channel 4’s Dispatched programme “How to buy a Football Club” seems to have gone by without much of an acknowledgement on here.

But our esteemed Harry Redknapp got himself a mention.

The gist was that once you bought a club, the organisation concerned (including Bryan Robson) would be able to get decent players as they would be able to call upon the likes of Fergie and Twitchy to send them players on loan. Robson said:

    “We have Alex Ferguson”.

    “We have Harry Redknapp”.

Apparently this was vigorously denied when asked by the programme by the aforementioned.

Still, makes things easier when you dismantle a reserve team structure to facilitate these loans of course. ;-)

Nice. No wonder he’s been bleating on about Modric all week, keen to keep the column inches filled with stories about that rather than have this repeated across the papers.

I recommend it be watched, as it is interesting. :cop:

As I suggested above, I tried posting the link numerous times, but it wouldn’t work, on IE, or Firefox.

      I’m not sure I understand.

Is the accusation that he’s loaning out players to his buddies – which maybe isn’t in the best interests of the club but certainly isn’t that bad.

Or is it that he’s on the take and gets a kickback for each player he owns? Cause then he’s fucking the club and enriching himself.

I assume the strenuous denial means it’s the latter. Wouldn’t really be surprising – our ‘arry’s always seemed as crooked to me as the day is long.

But he ours and we love em. Get behind him! right?
