Diarra ‘ITK’ Was Sadly ‘BS’

Good morning.

I do hope you kept your receipts. It turns out that Diarra transfer we were all encouraged to buy was in fact a lemon.

Things change of course, no man can predict the future. Look at Michael Fish. But it does make you wonder how it is that seemingly dozens of ‘in the know’ merchants told us repeatedly that this was done, double done and done again for the player to then say,

“Information about my departure is a lie. There is no agreement with Tottenham.”

I can understand one bloke calling it wrong – Benzema anyone? – but this smacks of bandwagon jumping.

The jury on Diarra was split anyhow. Some saw him as an ex Pompey type bloke and others argued you don’t play for Real Madrid for nothing. Well, now we’ll never know.

Ah well …next!

We need another DM. There is something wrong with Huddlestone’s ankle – possibly something that isn’t going away. Sandro is out for awhile. Livermore is 13 years old and cuts the lonliest figure I have seen in some time, standing in a 45-yard gap between our defenders and everyone else.

It looks like Diarra isn’t working out. Barton is already to get, but only if he could be gotten on a shorter-term deal that didn’t cost a fortune. And we’re not getting a deal that looks anything like that from West Ham. We’re involved in a bitter lawsuit with national attention focused on it, and some people think we could work out a bargain. Right.

Um…this is a problem. We are going to play wingers and Van der Vaart at the same time, and we have no defensive midfielder?

Oh, wait, I forgot about Jenas. Fuck me.

I think the ITKs were NOT full of BS on Liquid Chocolate – this was going to happen and there was some kind of surprise. You think there’s a plan here?

What about Ade saying he would sign only if Diarra did. Is that fucked now too?

You people freaking out about Parker need to wake up. He actually would be a far better outcome than where this is actually headed.

And by the way, all this arm around the shoulder bullshit about Modric…I am so fed up with the club right now that I can’t help but be sympathetic. Look at some of the players who made our salary max last year. King, Keane, Bentley. And Modric is a traitor because he’s being offered double our max to play somewhere else, and we aren’t even playing him that.

I know he signed a contract but it’s an employment contract. If employees think their compensation is unfair, you aren’t getting 100% in one form or another. The guaranteed contracts are in place in football so that a club can’t stop saying a player when he gets injured. But the complete lack of performance-based comp in sport is appalling. E.g., Bentley vs. Modric.

Modric doesn’t need an arm around his shoulders if he stays. He needs our best wages and a defensive fucking midfield playing with him that doesn’t make a mockery out of our claim that he are keeping him because we are ambitious.

Somehow my second paragraph got fucked up:

^Barton is already getting a medical at QPR. Parker would fill the role but only if…blah blah blah blah.

I am so fucking pissed off that I can’t even use this thing right. I cannot take another six days of this shit.

I agree that Parker is the best of a generally bad bunch of linked players – at least he is a realistic target, after all he is a championship player at the moment, although his wages may prove a stumbling block!

It’s still depressing though that he may be our only hope, especially given that he is such an archetypal Harry signing, and can only be seen as a pretty damn expensive short term option.

      No like top top boys.

You forgot Palacios. He may not be the monster we all hoped (and that he seemed to be for a while), but I still rate him as a pretty decent backup.

We have an injury crisis in central midfield, and although it will doubtless cost us points, that is not always a good reason to go shopping.

If the mutterings about Thudd’s ankle/heel are true, we probably do need someone. If not, I don’t see how we can realistically improve on Modders, Thudd and Sandro with cover from Sarge, J**** and Livermoore (not saying we can’t improve on he latter three, just that I think it is the first 11 we should look to improve as out top priority). Obviously, if one or more leave before Thursday, they will need to be replaced.

thank god hearts is coming up

modric staying would be good for us as a club because he is a class player on the other hand £30m for modric is also good business

as usual its the timing of the situation,if only sandro and thudd weren’t f*cked

i have just watched sky sports news for the first time in ages from my new footy site, haha there transfer touchscreen stuff is hilarious, they must be behind the continuing window, right at the end they showed who has signed who we are right at the bottom just above everton who have signed no one,we have only signed 40yr old fester on a free from the villa, blimey its a funny old game
