Good evening crouch potatoes.
This has got to have been one of the funniest windows witnessed in recent seasons. Largely as the big boys have got involved we have some proper comedy opposed to the online religious cult. Bellamy in a helicopter. Benayoun fleeing Israel by unspecified means and David Bentley travelling to Upton Park on a Boris bike.
Begbie is off to Villa is done. Big Eck is creaming himself at the prospect of eventually landing the Generalissimo. Jenas & Crouch are in a holding pattern.I say holding pattern, 3MP did end up in the van and is currently shaking off the aftereffects of some heavy duty sedatives.
What will this trigger? Not much is my prediction. The tangible impact of both departures would be wage bill orientated rather than funding a crazy megabid for a household name.
Killjoy? Pr’aps, but work it out, all we could realistically generate is enough to pay for the Scotty Parker and a yet to be naffed up Cahill deal.
More as I don’t get it.
For those who have’t yet seen it, here’s what Tim Sherwood had to say after our youth team battered Inter Milan 7-1 on Wednesday:
“Massimo Luongo was immense in midfield, as was Jake Nicholson, but Souleymane Coulibaly was unbelievable. He played up front on his own, absolutely battered their two centre-halves and scored two goals.”
Really looking forward to seeing how Coulibaly develops. Sounds like we have one hell of a prospect on our hands.
Coulibaly should take Pav’s place in the squad.
Being under 21 he wouldn’t have to.
Then I should take his place.
I’m sure whoever we eventually sell him to will be very happy.
Get a load of this. There’s one goal he scores from the right touch line, but don’t tell Lennon. ;-)

scores overhead kicks, free kicks ,shoots from anywhere with his left or right foot, puts a spin on it and knows where the goal is and most importantly
seems to know where the goalie is and where he wont be able to reach the ball. Bring him on :freu
I noticed that most of his goals were scored by keeping the ball as far away from the GK as possible. I also notice this season that most of our shots, have been straight at the keeper. I think VDV and others might actually learn something from this kid.

Well, I can’t speak for anyone else but that looks pretty tasty to me. Supplement it with a sprinkling of academy graduates and I think we have an exciting season to look forward to.
Top four is definitely within our grasp.
4th keeper takes the proposed Cahill spot. Can a non-UEFA (So. American, African) player be added to an unused spot on the 25 man roster once the window is closed?
good evening crouch potatoes!
what exactly is a brad fried eel?
I did not realise we picked up Coulibaly. Holy crap! I thought scum owned his rights. Now that is the first positive incoming move we have made since Sandro and may become one of the best ever.
Souleymane was in a class of his own in the U17’s. He is an absolute beast and went around, through and over his marks with ease.
He is the most complete player I have ever seen at the U17 level. If he stays healthy, I believe he will be one of the best strikers in the world within five years. Because of his size and strength, he is not far off from being ready to play in the PL now.
Let’s hope it doesn’t turn out he’s actually 38 years old. :)
Size and stenghth? His Wikipedia page has him at 1.72 m (5 ft 7 1?2 in). Is that incorrect?
Sounds about right to me. Defoe Mark-2.
SSG – Looking at the videos, he is not as tall as I recalled but I do think he is a couple inches taller than they have him on wiki.
He is so aggressive attacking the net and absolutely impossible to knock off the ball, my recollection pictured him quite a bit taller. He is very strong.
If you get a chance to watch a video of him on youtube check out how quick the release is on his shots.
Cheers. I’ve been meaning to check him out :daumen:
