Good morning.

The Bale”s on the wing; The Jakes’s on the scoreboard; God’s in his Heaven – All’s right with the world…

First up I want to tackle the obvious charge that this was only Hearts and Hearts weren’t very good. Agreed that was the case. So this gives us an accurate gauge of quite how unspectacular the SPL really is. The Jambos, don’t forget are the widely regarded third best firm up there. Ouch.

Anyway. The Jam Tarts weren’t completely useless and to their credit they not only ran all night and remained determined to mount a comeback. My point being they were hard tackling and in Tottingham’s faces all night long.

Gomes -6  You make me nervous

Walker – 6.32 Lots of positives, more please

Dawson – 7.64 Every inch a captain. That’s what she said

Kaboul – 7.57 Rock solid

A&E -8 Assured and intelligent

Azza7.58 Few trademark runs, but lots of clever little passes

Kranjcar 8 Blimey he’s good. I doubt Arry noticed

Livermore8 Really decent type, a pleasure to see him in the shirt

Bale8.023 The mega bids in January will have many clutching their teddies

VDV8.024 Red hot & Dutch

Defoe 7 The best I’ve seen him in years. More please

Hudd6.89 Very, very assured.

Townsend Give him more game time, someone…

Pav – Not on for very long …I s’pose

maybe its Gomes for the cups and Big Bald Brad in the league?

Who needs fecking Modric. It was not the best test of mettle – but we looked like we wanted it (including Arry) – sharp first touches, plenty of energy and movement, finding space (and whites shirts!) . All in all a joy to watch. Reminded of a newspaper quote from a few years back (on a game I can’t recall) – “Spurs played with an arrogance bordering on the dilletante – which is exactly how a Tottenham team should play!”
Sell Ratboy , use the £35m for 3 top top imports – and keep Kranjcar.

£35m is too cheap, they want him they pay the going rate.

Tap up our player then we sell him for LESS than he’s worth in the market.

how many midfielders with Modrics ability, premier league experience, age and one year into a 6 year contract are available.

Fibreglass has gone for £35-£40M to Barca only because they got him to stay the last two years and it was never going to be an option to keep him. The guys never even fit. You think theyd have let him go to chelsea or Utd or City for that price? Not on your Nelly. £40M is rock bottom price for me, and that should exclude add ons or a Sturridge.

Flog him to Real if you gotta, they need someone like Modric to compete with Barca.

Typical Spurs supporters. 26 comments in and not a word of praise for Redknapp. His team selection was spot on, his tactics were spot on and his substitutions were exactly the right ones at exactly the right time.

Would it really kill some of you to give credit where it’s due?

    • Fatfish says:

£35m for 3 top, top imports, eh?

OK, that’s £35m paid for a top, top striker. Then spend the remaining zero on 2 other top, top imports.

After all the frustration vented on here yesterday about Redknapps continuous idiotic and detrimental comments, it was nice seeing him doing what he does best and put out a team playing decent football. It was however only hearts and had the feel of us playing the first round of the FA Cup against some non-league outfit.
Was a great workout for the lads though and many shone.

Walker looks a shoe in to be a regular right back.

Krancjar did what Ive been saying he does and ran the game when given game time. Its actually tear provoking to think that had Pienaar or Jenas been fit he wouldnt have even been on there. The boys is class and three times the player those pretenders are. KEEP HIM Harry, Modric or no modric. we need players of this class. How he can say Kranc isnt a central midfielder is beyond me!

Defoe is putting the record straight. Last year he started well and got a very bad injury. By the time he came back he needed to get up to speed which wasnt helped with his ban for a red card and then being given sporadic appearances. Lets hope hes back to his best.

VDV, pure class and shamed those who quietly bitched that he’s to blame for our scoring deficiencies last year. Hes not only an amazing player he’s a leader and an inspiration when it comes to pushing us forward.

Lets hope Diarra and Adebayor are added to the roster today, which a couple more in the fire.

No more Pav please. Would have thought that Defoe, Ade, VDV, Kane would probably be enough, unless of course we sign the superstar. Start harry Kane next week and Ade to get fitness.

    Overall looked good.

I should google team selections a few days before more often. Some people just don’t have any faith ; )

Anyone notice the incident with HR and the 4th official. HR was forced to sit behind a Wonga.com hoarding. An ad man’s dream come true.

    • Spurfect says:

haha! love it. Old Harry, Loadddsaaa money. Shame Modric wasnt sat behind it too, wouldve made a great picture.
