Real Madrid are to blame. The Spanish rotters or Los Blancos as they prefer to be called are leading our fearless crack squad of transfer negotiators a merry dance. Benzema on loan came the cry in the last window but a deal went sour after refining, refining and the timing of Higuain’s injury and so Benzema stuck with the devil he knew.
This time around Benzema is still ludicrously a potential target despite he very recent public pledge to the Real cause. Adebayor I’m told would be happy to play for us, but he’s equally happy to sign on permanently with Jose. Reality appears to have sunk in at long last and he knows that whatever shirt he’s in next season the owners of the badge won’t be paying him what he’s been getting.
The twist in the tale is that Real have sought a ‘first refusal’ from us for the boy Bale. This in relation to the season following this one. If this were to be granted then the transfers of Adebayor or Benzema – or theoretically both – could be made that much easier to facilitate.
As if a sign of goodwill, the Diarra deal was made painless. A sign of how easy business can be when the seller is guaranteed to be looked after in the future.

If you guys think Diarra is pony then you have absolutely no idea about football, he was let go by Chelsea because he was 19 and wanted 30 year old Makelele’s place in the team and wouldnt wait……….Arsenal he was there for 6 months and wasnt given a chance because of Flamini and Fabregas pairing which nearly got them the league that season.
He is the best holding midfielder in the world, without doubt he always shines in the Barca v Madrid games and the only reason he is being sold is because he wants first team football and doesnt want to rotate with Alonso, Sahin and Khedira.
We would be lucky to have him and I will say I told you so in about 2 weeks after we win against Everton and United(hopefully)
Diarra had a few good matches yes, but Sandro had more! What about Huddlestone, he aint bad either! I prefer Benzema over Ade, Loriete etc. We must focus on two strikers and keep Modders!

I respect opinions, but when someone calls him pompey shite and a donkey then how can I seriously consider that person as having a strong footballing knowledge, this is Lassana Diarra we are talking about and without doubt he will be a firm fans favourite as soon as he plays.
Ric, I agree Sandro is excellent but Diarra is more proven even though they are slightly different, Sandro gets around the pitch more, Diarra has more positional sense, Diarra is better on the ball, Sandro is more physically dominant.
I dont think we will sign any strikers tbh, if they were serious about getting someone they would have done it by now
Imagine Sandro and Diarra away to places like Man Utd, or any team, fighting for everything..We are shit away from home, these two would be a modern Vieira and Petit, then that rat can fuck off, or apologise and stay, the latter would be better…
Personally, I don’t think we need him. Longer term, I believe Sandro will prove to be our defensive midfield rock. However, I do think that we desperately need a top quality striker.
