Good awning.
With the weather as unpredictable as it has demonstrated itself to be of late a stout piece of reliable tarpaulin may prove itself invaluable.
And then there was Stoke.
The first question in any interrogation is to the questioner who needs to ask his or herself (ooh stop, it’s not lunchtime yet) how important the matter is. The much ‘debated’ issue of fielding children over adults has been somewhat at the fore on here of late.
Stoke were put up as prime example of a side that caught out, spreading themselves too thinly. By contrast, BMJ’s Fulham by stark contrast proved that offering up your first team need not necessarily court disaster as they drew with FC Twente and then pulled off a historic draw against the free scoring and merciless Manchester City.
So who will play? Stoke are neither a bunch of well meaning sweaties, nor a shower of faceless Greeks.
Judging by Arry’s latest comments what we will get is something between the first team and the yoofsters. Gomes, Pav, VdV, Dos Santos and presumably anyone else Arry can’t reach using the power of …trifficness.
Prediction?
Minus PNB and Ade we will struggle. This isn’t at all me being Mr MiseryGuts, rather me being Mr OpinionBasedOnHowWeWhereBeforeTheyLanded so 0-0.

I’d be fascinated to know why Steve Perryman has only just be inducted into the Hall of Fame? Is there really a probation period in which you mustn’t dis da club?
***
I think much depends on Stokes team
If they bring in fringe/squad players and the likes of G2S shine for us then we will win by a couple of goals
If not then it could be a tedious 0-0 or 1-1; neither of which is a great result for us or them
any streams chaps?
Yeah any streams?? What a suprise to see MAN U on the box AGAIN…cause they aint ever on!! You might have thought an all Premiership game would have been more mouth watering…apparently not!
:-(
If you were in charge of programming I’d like to see you explain to your boss exactly why you’d chosen NOT to cover the Man U vs Leeds match…
errr….cause im a Spurs fan!! Do you reckon that would wash?!

Stoke have just come off the back of three games in eight days culminating in a 4-0 drubbing by Sunlan. After us they have another three-games-in-eight-days schedule starting with Man Utd on Saturday. A Mickey Mouse cup tie with us right now is the last thing they want and so they will be as far away from full strength as they can get away with.
We will, therefore, twat them good and proper.
Predictable optimism UnkleKev ;-)
Despite this I am oddly sharing your view. Largely because I want to see it proved that Crouch is shite, and Pav is better than Crouch.
I suspect they won’t be quite as weak for it as you feel though, with the likes of Upson replacing Woodgate, and Palacios coming into the side.
But my early thoughts are we should be better than them if both teams rest a few, and match them if we rest a lot.
“Predictable optimism UnkleKev”.
If nothing else, it helps me through the day.
Only the day Uncle? it’s been a lifetime for me and still optimisim rules OK in my eyes.
At 6pm the whisky takes over.
Come on TMWNN.
Surely you cannot let this flame of optimism go unextinguished!
I wish I could do smiley faces, ‘cos thats one I you
owe
You’re a fire starter,
twisted fire starter.
Oh damn, I want one of those-now!
I like HR but he worries me sometimes!! His quote today about Woody made me feel abit better re: he didn’t want to let a fit Woody go but then he has to go and ruin it by declaring that he also didn’t want to let 3MP go either…I mean, come on…what is it he sees that we dont…surely his goal per game ratio for Spurs says it all really!!
I hate mornings but everyday I wake, that scowl instantly turns to a grin when I remember that we sold him!!
God bless Stoke…the future is bright after all.
I think you’ll find sir, that the future is orange.
IM NOT GINGER!!!! Im auburn. :-)

How thick must you be to buy Crouch for £10 MILLION POUNDS? Did Pulis actually watch the gormless prick play for us?
It really is incredible.
Even stranger is the whole array of International and Premiership managers who’ve done exactly the same thing before. Stranger still is Gerry Francis’ influence at Stoke, who you’d thought could’ve advised Pulis to offer 60k to test the water?
In fairness to Crouch, at least he tried within his limitations and you know what you got. Pav on the other hand blows hot and cold and cannot be relied upon….he is brilliant and shit in equal measures.
£10m for Crouch (aged 30) is amazing business.
If you have read Harry quotes in the Standard today, he said Stoke would only take Crouch & WP for £20m, it was both or none……brilliant! probably the only time Levy has never had to haggle over a deal, probably couldn’t draft the paperwork quick enough.
I heard that all of the paper work was smudged before it was faxed over, Levy crying apparently!!
Were’nt we all crying tears of joy, well, all except Harry, ‘cos he’s lost ‘free ‘triffic lads, (which means, Harry’s wasted 4 million on those pair), but Levy must’ve been stabbing a pencil in his eye to make sure he wasn’t going to wake up at any moment. 20 million would be a handy kitty come January all the same.
HR also said we needed that £20m to raise funds for Parker & Cahill.
This implies no funds and goes totally against the rumoured bids (rumours started by Arry) for Aguero in Jan, Mata/Gervinho/Llorente earlier in the summer.
perhaps it is now as many expected that Levy said “if you’re not going to be here next summer then the only funds you shall have we shall have to raise from sales”
Which further points to….a mega warchest for the new man next summer!
Hmmm I hadn’t given too much thought to that but you are correct…the future is indeed bright once rent a gob gets the push/ takes Engerland job/ gets sent down…. :winke:
It could also be of course because we’ve already got to commit funds for both Adebayor and Leandro. Both these could be permanent deals come January, as Ade is then free to negociate his own pre-contract and Leandro’s season will all but be over.
I think we all should be gratful that he (Harry) really hasn’t a clue about the comings and going’s. At first I thought it was all a nonesense, but it’s evident that Levy and Harry aren’t on speaking terms, which in a perverse way could work out for best. Why on earth Harry had to speak about Modric, (when it was the best day to say nothing he’ll ever) have is beyond me. Is he working for Chelsea or perhaps Luca’s agent? because all and sundry know Modrics wage’s aren’t that of a 5m players, yet Harry distorts the facts for no apparent reason other than a swift boot up the jackee and a p45 for insubordination and undermining his superiors authority (which is a sackable offence without redress)
Not forgetting additional funds for new contracts or renegotiated one’s such as Modric, Adebayor (possibly) and all those who have agents knocking on the chairmans door as speak!
Remind me Mr. Clowns why as you state, Adebayor is free to sign a pre-contract in January, when he currently has just under three years remaining on his five year Man City contract?
Is your statement based on the Webster ruling?
As I understand Adebayor would be free to buy out his own Man City contract three years after he signed it. Does this additionally make him free to sign a pre-contract with another club after having only served (and would be therefore still serving) two and a half years of his existing Man City contract?
Not so sure it does, so would welcome an explanation/clarification.
Our happy band of kids and B-listers are a pretty solid outfit but sadly don’t look like they’re going to score in an epoch (which I believe is more than a good while and substantially less than an aeon – or the combined age of Carragher.)
On any tv, streams or radio chaps?
It appears at first glance, there is no obvious TV coverage.

Radio stream link will be here.
Here you go: http://www.footballstreaming.info/streams/todays-links/
Which pretty much backs up MS’s assertion that there is little prospect of TV coverage
tvm one and all
This is the only one I have found so far:

Triffic Tottenham are a good bet, sign up and away you go, if they’re showing anything Spurs related Decent site or try My P2P Football, but this season it’s a bit gimmicky and less direct than before.
